Greetings! I hope you are as excited about Spring as I am. It's time for the Heritage, the Masters, and the BMW, and I hope to make an appearance at all three. This could be the last year for South Carolina's only PGA tour event unless a new title sponsor is secured for the Heritage by the end of the summer. I personally think it would be the perfect venue for Boeing to introduce itself to the Southeastern United States, but of course no one has asked me.
I've added a new element to the Newsletter this month that is focused on "Inventory Analysis and Homes for Sale". The new section will feature commentary on current inventory and hyper links to certain "Homes for Sale". I'll continue to expand this section to include other areas that I specialize in including Lake Keowee and maybe even Hilton Head. I hope you enjoy the Newsletter and please don't forget to forward it to your friends, family, and colleagues so they can sign up and receive their own.
All my best, Keith (420-0262) |

February MLS Stats and Market Update
JD and I made our annual market predictions in January and at this point either of us could be right. I predicted we will see a small increase in the number of transactions and JD predicted we would see a small decrease in the number of transactions for 2011. February numbers show a small decrease in year over year but last year we had the tax credit to stimualte the market during the first and second quarters. The MLS statistics below open as pdf files and provide a very good snap shot of the current market.

What Your Remodeling Contract Should Say Review your remodeling contract carefully and adjust it to make sure it protects you in terms of payments, work schedules, and project specs. Hiring a lawyer to review and make changes to a contract is a safe bet, especially since each state has its own construction-contract statutes. But not many homeowners are willing to shell out $500 for an attorney review, plus $1,000 to $1,500 additional fees to make wholesale revisions to a flawed contract. However, you can hand-write changes and additions in plain English and make sure both you and the contractor initial each change to the document, says Tampa, Fla., attorney George Meyer, who is chair-elect of the American Bar Association's Forum on the Construction Industry. Here's what you want to add (and subtract).

This was Bennett's first year playing organized basketball. He played in the Upward Basketball league at Rocky Creek Baptist Church where the emphasis is on developing character first and basketball skills second. I was very impressed with the organizational elements of the program as well as the competition. I witnessed the best basketball game I've ever seen when the underdog Trailblazers played the undefeated Spurs. The game ended in a 26-26 tie and it was back and forth buzzer to buzzer. Every player on the Trailblazers (Bennett's team) played over their heads. It was a David and Goliath match up of epic proportions and as the coach described it best after the game when he said "That was a barn burner". Click Here to View Our Slide Show |
