Foolish Plans or God's Vision? by Tracey Michae?l Lewis
Tracey Lewis
Greetings!
There will be those who consider your dreams, the vision and purpose that God gave you, as foolish. Undoubtedly if your dreams seem nearly impossible to accomplish and you find yourself dangling somewhere outside your comfort zone, you also might view that idea, dream, or vision as foolish. But, my friend, do not be mistaken! God specializes in foolish ideas; those dreams that, by the standards that the world has set, seem impossible to accomplish. I almost believe that there is an excitement and expectation that takes over Heaven when someone says to one of God?s children, ?You can?t do that!? It?s like everyone, and hopefully you too, knows that God is about to, as we used to say as kid?s in the eighties, SHOW AND PROVE.

Since He is not bound by the criteria set forth by this world or by the finiteness of time and space, God is quite capable of turning your dreams into reality. As the scripture above implies, the power of God to catapult you into your destiny is so much greater than anything out there that tries to prevent you from reaching it; including your own weaknesses. That is what you must hide in your heart! That is what you must remember when it seems like you won?t make it; when writing that book, starting that business, applying for that promotion, recording that CD, or beginning your ministry seems overwhelming. God, the Father, does not lie and he has proven through his word that he does everything with specific intention! He knew you well before you were ever conceived and he also knew what gifts and talents, dreams and hopes he placed in you. He did not create you with the abilities that you have for those talents to lie dormant and not be utilized for His glory.

Think of it like this. It?s easy to allow fear and circumstance to hinder you in the pursuit of your dreams. In fact, in my own life?s journey, I have found that the fear of success can be monumentally more suffocating to my dreams than even the fear of failure. Yes, there are those who don?t pursue their dreams because they are afraid that they will fail at what they are attempting. But more often than not, our real fear is of all of the awesomely and wonderfully powerful (and maybe foolish by the world?s standards) things God can do through us when we do allow Him to move in our lives. Writer, Marianne Williamson said it best,

?Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God"

The beauty of it all is that God is not trying to hide anything from us. He is not trying to prevent you from being successful or seeing your dreams fulfilled by keeping you in the dark when it comes to what you have been called to do here on earth. But He does have only one way that he will reveal these things to you and that is through his Holy Spirit. And you access His Spirit through your faith (believing without seeing) and His word. Fears (whether of failure or success) are tools of the enemy that become like dull knives when God reveals to you your purpose through his word. They can?t penetrate you and they can?t stop you!

So keep pressing! I declare today that all of your God- given dreams shall be realized as you continue on your journey towards destiny!
