On Friday, September 24^th, the Leadership Mountain View Class of 2011 kicked off their first program day at Microsoft. With the program day theme of "Our Class" the class members spent the day getting to know one other better, both personally and professionally.

Program members were welcomed by Mayor Ronit Bryant, Chamber President/CEO Oscar Garcia and Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts Executive Director Scott Whisler, all who are LMV alumni. We were also greeted by Thea Nilsson, Microsoft Silicon Valley's Citizenship Coordinator, who spoke about the company's efforts in promoting service in the community to their employees. New Section of Bay Trail

Yesterday was the official opening of the newest section of the Bay Trail. We're so lucky to live in an area that has so many wonderful options for outdoor recreation. This 2.4 mile section of land was donated by Cargill. They're the salt company that is located in the lower end of the East bay. This donated portion of land is 16 acres. Hosted by Operation: Care and Comfort Military Care Package Program, an all-volunteer grassroots organization that ships care packages to service members in Iraq, Afghanistan and other conflict regions.
