Despite the crazy weather (it's almost summer, right?!), we've had plenty of things going on around town here in Mountain View, including ribbon cuttings and graduation ceremonies.
It was a busy month of ribbon cuttings as we welcomed new members Savvy Cellar, Eco Lube and Khuu Dermatology and Dentistry. Talk about well-attended affairs! Ribbon cuttings are a great way to get some exposure...and everybody loves a party.
Leadership Mountain View celebrated their 20th anniversary with a big bash and also graduated this year's class. I finally had the opportunity to go through this highly regarded program and had an incredible experience. One of my favorite program days was "Business - Creating a Shared Vision." We had the opportunity to have a panel on corporate social responsibility with representatives from Google, Microsoft, HP and Palm. Governor Schwarzenegger Announces Green Innovation Challenge Grants to Spur Job Creation in the Green Economy

Continuing his commitment to green job creation and economic growth, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today announced that his Employment Development Department (EDD) will make available up to $20 million to fund the Green Innovation Challenge Grant program. The funds will provide up to five Challenge grants at up to $4 million each to encourage business-led partnerships to develop and implement new workforce training strategies that will prepare workers for jobs in a broad range of clean technologies... read more
