We are 67 days away from the 8th Annual Capital City Half Marathon on May 7th in Columbus, Ohio. Registration is on record pace and we will sell out for the 3rd year in a row.
Whether it is the new course, the bands, the Djs, the Byer's Imports Extra Mile Finisher's Party or the Champagne and Chocolate, this year is definitely going to be the biggest and best ever. Don't miss your chance, REGISTER NOW!
You are receiving this email as you are already registered or we thought you would not want to get closed out of the ultimate Spring Celebration.
The course entertainment this year will be second to none. Yes, we have over 20 bands, but we also have DJ's at every mile, drumlines, cheerleaders, oh my. Bottom line, the course will be electric and fit for a Champion like you.
I am proud to announce that Michal Doss will join our panel of Champions at the expo and will join Mayor Coleman and 10tv's Andrea Cambern as Official Starter's of the event.
Michael Doss is a three-time All-American and as a senior starting safety Ohio State won the 2002 National Championship against the University of Miami in the Fiesta Bowl. Doss went on to win a Super Bowl Championship with the Indianapolis Colts.
This has been an amazing week for the event. With our field increasing over 164% since we started this journey, people are taking notice locally, regionally and nationally. We have added Byers Imports and Marathon Petroleum to our team of partners. In addition we have added Flying Horse Farms, The Ronald McDonald House and Charity Newsies to our growing list of Official Charities for the event.
"Dream Big Dreams...Never Give up and Love with more passion than you ever thought you could."

Tip #1 - The Health and Fitness Expo Party! May 5th and 6th at Battelle Hall.
With our event growing to one of the largest events in the region, event weekend can become a bit overwhelming. I am going to provide you with tips over the next few weeks that will help you plan for a remarkable experience.
This year we will have a 2 day Health and Fitness Expo party in Battell Hall on May 5th and 6th. Battelle Hall is located at 400 N High Street in downtown Columbus, Ohio.
The Capital City Half Marathon Champion Expo Party is the exciting start to your Half Marathon weekend. Great entertainment, exciting speakers, a lounge and great vendors with cool items for you to reward yourself for all the hard work you put in over the winter.
All participants are required to pick up race packets and information at the Expo on Thursday, May 5, between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. or on Friday, May 6, between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. There will be no raceday packet pick-up, so make sure you make plans to come see us.
Join over 25,000 fellow participants, family and fans at the Expo. The Expo is open to the general public. This is a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy the excitement that builds to the Half Marathon on Saturday.

Clothes do make the man or the woman!
Bring you registration to Fleet Feet and Save $$$!
Wearing the right clothing will not only make your workout more comfortable, but you'll look cool and your friends and training partners will give you a look that says, "Wow, she must really know what she is doing!" Technical fabrics are designed to wick moisture away from the skin surface to keep you drier. This will help you avoid getting chilled in the winter, and reduce the chafing and dampness that is common with cotton garments in the warmer months.
From fitted base layers to loose fit thermal layers to water and wind-resistant shells, Fleet Feet Columbus offers a broad selection of running clothing year round from Saucony, Nike, Brooks, Mizuno, Asics, and CWX. They also carry an extensive selection of sport bras and women's apparel from Enell and Moving Comfort.
Here is the deal for all Cap City Runners and walkers. From now until March 15th, bring in your registration confirmation and save 13.1% on any apparel purchase and save 20% off winter shell jackets. Also make sure you bring your shoes with you and have them check them out for you.
Don't forget that Fleet Feet Sports will host Bart Yasso, the Chief Running Officer at Runner's World magazine on Saturday, March 11th & 12th. You are all welcome to join us at Independence Hall at The Ohio State University to hear what Bart has to say about his lifetime of being an ambassador to our sport.
After the talk, join Bart and MIT for a workout on the Olentangy Bike Trail. After the workout, Bart will head to Fleet Feet for a signing of his book, "My Life on the Run."
