It's Event Week at the Inaugural
Emerald City Quarter and Half Marathon in beautiful Dublin, Ohio.
You are receiving this email as you have already registered (with 1500 of your closest friends) for the event or we thought you might be interested in being kept up to date on some of the stops on the M3S Celebration Tour.
Here is the race information you need for a remarkable CELEBRATION:
PACKET PICKUP:
Packet Pickup begins today at 10 at Fleet Feet Sports at Polaris. Packet Pickup is open during all normal store hours. Wed-Thur from 10am-8pm, and Fri-Sat from 10am-6pm.
I was up at Fleet Feet yesterday, chatted with Chelsea a bit and checked out the race shirts. These are some of the coolest race shirts we have made yet. I also received the medals yesterday. You earned it, we just get to put it on your neck. Fleet Feet is located in the Polaris Area just North of Columbus at 1174 East Powell Road in Lewis Center, OH 43035. The phone number for more information is (614) 846-5625. To get directions to the store you can map them here.
If you need to change your registration from the half to the quarter, you may do that at packet pickup. You may also pickup up a packet for someone else.
Limited race day packet pickup will be available on Sunday, September 5 from 5:30-6:30am at the starting line at the race site at Dublin Methodist Hospital.
PARKING: You have a few great options for parking:
Choice A (and the best choice) - The back of the Kroger Shopping center lot. Labor day weekend is very busy for Kroger so please be respectful and park in the back of the lot away from the Kroger entrance.
Choice B (also a great choice) - Matt The Miller's - home of the post race brunch party. Walk across the Kroger Parking lot to the start and then walk back to join us at the party.
Choice C (limited parking) - Dublin Methodist Hospital lot in the front of Hospital.
RACE TIPS:
Eat a light, high carb breakfast early, and don't eat anything you haven't tried before a run;
Get to the race about an hour early.
Line up according to your pace (we will have the MIT/Fleet Feet pacers so find the pace of the "Yellow Brick Road" you want to follow!)
When you get on the wooden bridge in the Quarter Marathon take your time getting across and enjoy the view and all the birds (it was fantastic on Saturday when I ran it).
Check the Weather:
Keep your eye on the forecast and be prepared. It looks like the weather will be great but make sure you are prepared for heat. Bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
Have a great time. This is a CELEBRATION...not a test.
FACEBOOK: We are communicating race information with you on the M3S Sports Facebook Fan Page. We want to see your posts as to why a Quarter was just right for you and want to see your race photos.
Giddy Up!
