    It's time to CELEBRATE YOU! The Capital City Half Marathon and Commit to Be Fit 5k is just one day away.

    Our field is Full. We have left one hundred extra registrations at Fleet Fleet Sports which are available until the close of packet pickup. There is NO race day registration.

    RACE INFORMATION YOU NEED

    New 5k Start Time: The Half Marathon and Commit to Be Fit 5k will start together at 8am on Spring Street in front of McFerson Commons in the Arena District. They will run together for just over a mile then the Cap City Half Marathon Course will take a left onto High Street.

    T Shirt Exchange! If you ordered a size that does not fit, on event day, after packet pickup closes, we will have a tent in our Michelob Ultra Post Race Party area on McPherson Commons where you may exchange your shirt for a different size based on availability.

    Packet Pickup SALE: Our 10 day Packet Pickup at Fleet Feet Sports at Polaris is coming to a close tonight at 6. Until Close tonight, 13.1% off all new shoe models and 15% off all new apparel.

    There is also race day packet pickup from 5:30 to 7am at McFerson Commons.

    Parking: Don't forget to prepay your parking and get there early. Maureen Griffen and her team at Standard Parking have created a site where you can reserve a guaranteed parking space for Cap City.

    Weather Weather Updates
    The Capital City Half Marathon Inclement Weather Policy

    Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event paying special attention to the possibility of rain, thunder and lightning, high winds and temperatures. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these predictions on the Capital City Half Marathon Website so that participants can properly prepare for severe weather during the race as well as possible course alterations. Severe weather updates will also be sent to participants via email as necessary.

    Myself and Darrin Bright, our Medical Director will monitor the weather and make a decision if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include: altering the start time for the race or in very extreme situations, cancellation of the event. Please listen closely to all public address announcements at the starting line of the race.

    Visible lightening will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 15 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 15 minute increments.

    Update April 30, 2010: WBNS 10TV weather is calling for the potential of inclement weather during the Capital City Half Marathon. Current predictions are calling for a low of 57 at race start warming up to a high of 74. There is a storm system rolling in late Saturday morning which may thunderstorms and lightning.

    In the event that lightening occurs after the race starts, use common sense and find cover. If the race has started we will communicate with the athletes at the finish line, through our aid stations and the American Red Cross.

    We now have a system to allow your participation in both the CTBF5k and Cap City Half to be sent as both a "tweet" and a "status update" on your Facebook page. How cool is that? There is still time to sign uphere?

    Be smart about the weather.

    With our event growing to 10,000 participants, over 1,000 volunteers and thousands of spectators, I am going to provide you with tips that will help you plan for a remarkable experience.

    Tip #7 - Weather.

    Our inclement weather policy is included in this email, we will provide updates on the website and on Facebook and Twitter. We have a staffed gear check so dress appropriately as there will be a place to leave your gear.

    Also if you are on course and see lightning, Be smart and take shelter. Also, listen to any announcements at the aid stations. Let it
