Greetings!
Giddy Up! The Capital City Half Marathon
and Commit to Be Fit 5k is less than a month away.
If you are receiving this
newsletter it is because you are already registered for
the 2010 Capital City Half Marathon or Commit to
Be Fit 5k or we think you might be interested in
joining
10,000 of your closest friends for the ultimate 13.1 or
3.1 mile
block party.
Our field is already over 75%
sold out and
registration fees (if not already sold out) increase
significantly at the start of our 10 day Packet Pickup on
April 21. Be part
of the
Celebration and Register Now!
One Size Does Not Fit All! Over 65% of Cap
City participants are women, so why
should we only have men's shirts? In our effort
to create a remarkable experience for you we are
again having gender specific technical shirts. In order
to make sure everyone who has registered gets the
correct size, you will be given the shirt size indicated
on your registration. Our great
volunteers at Packet Pickup will not be permitted to
make any exchanges.
However, if you
ordered a size that does not fit, on event day, after
packet pickup closes, we will have a tent in our
Michelob Ultra Post Race Party area on McPherson
Commons where you may exchange your shirt for a
different size.
This is
YOUR event and your new Facebook Fan Page.
We are posting updates and answering questions
everyday on FB page. If you are not yet a fan, make
sure you become one soon.
Tell us why you are running Cap City? Post it up on
Facebook and we may send you some cool Schwag
or VIP Credentials.
"If Women Ran the World Sh*t would get done."

The Michelob Ultra Post Race Party!
Music, Beer, Party, Oh My!
Michelob Ultra has joined us as the official beer of
M3S Sports and the Capital City Half Marathon. On
Race Day the Michelob Ultra truck will be located near
the finish line between Spring and McPherson park.
Grab a beer (Ultra Reg, Pomegranate Raspberry,
Lime
Cactus, or Tucson Orange Grapefruit) and cheer on
your fellow runners and walkers. All proceeds from
the sale of the beer go to the Columbus Blue Jackets
Foundation.

Tweet My What?
Race Tracking Software now works with Facebook.
Bryan Huber and his team have created a system to
allow your participation in both the CTBF5k and
Cap City Half to be sent as both a "tweet" and
a "status update" on your
Facebook page. How cool is that? Check it out and
sign up here?

Your Remarkable Experience Tip #4.
Get There Early.
With our event growing to 10,000 participants, over
1,000 volunteers and thousands of spectators, I am
going to provide you with tips that will help you plan for
a remarkable experience.
Tip #4 - Get there early.
This year both the Half Marathon and the
5k will start together at 8am. We have taken over
McPherson Commons in the Arena District for the day
so plan on being there an hour early, stretch out and
relax. That way if road closures or parking for you
become an issue,
you will still have plenty of time. Enjoy the experience
you worked so hard to train for and get rid of the
stress.
There is a ton going on in the Arena District that day.
Maureen Griffen and her team at Standard Parking
have created a site where you can reserve a guaranteed
parking space for Cap City.
Attention to these types of details will
make your experience remarkable.
There is no more valuable commodity than
information! Make sure you follow the event on Twitter,
become a fan on Facebook, make sure
you are
receiving these newsletters and check the website on
a regular basis.
Over the next few months we will Tweet, Post and
email out a number
of tips to make your experience more remarkable, we
just want to make sure you see it!
