Time to Save Money and Start Training!
The Holidays are a great time to make your plan with Cap City and MIT!

Greetings!
The holiday eating tips are now coming at us at a
frenzied pace. Some good ones include: being
physically active every day, eating a light snack before
going to holiday parties and avoiding grazing and
recreational eating. The best one still comes from my
Dad who
always focuses on doing "Push Backs" (from the food
table) during the Holidays. Our family always tries to
go for a walk after our holiday dinner as well.
Some of the tips are not tips at all but simply tricks.
The other day while I was at the gym, an infomercial
for a slimming body suit caught my attention. They
would
actually bring obese folks back to
the dressing room, put them in the suit (which looked
like some strange combination of spandex and a
straight jacket), and bring
them back out to the audience to thunderous
applause. They were smiling, happy
and looked slimmer. Are you kidding me! Not one
mention of healthier eating or an active lifestyle in the
entire infomercial. Yes, I watched the whole thing. I
could not find the remote.
Let's start our own plan right now! "Eat less and move
more."
Early registration for the Capital City Half Marathon and Commit to be
Fit 5k ends on December 31st.
Check out the
Marathoner in Training program
information below. If you
register for MIT you get $10 off the Capital
City Half Marathon or Commit to Be Fit 5k and if
you are
registered for the half or 5k you will save $10 off
the MIT program.
Marathoner In Training
MIT is America's premier endurance training program
and has a very large group training for Cap City.
Not ready for a Half Marathon? Then consider joining
MIT's No Boundaries beginner 5k program training
program for the Commit To Be Fit 5K.
The first group workout for MIT is this Saturday,
December 19th at Thomas Worthington High
School.
There are two (2) free no-obligation
Information Sessions you can check out.
The first Information session is tonight,
December 16th at 7:00 PM at the OhioHealth campus,
300 Polaris Pkwy, Westerville, OH 43082.
The second Information session will be held at the
Thomas Worthington High School auditorium on
Saturday, December
19th at 7:00 AM. (Followed by MIT orientation at 7:30
and the first workout at 8:00).
If you wish, you
can
check out the Saturday Information Session, the
Orientation Session and the first workout and then
decide for yourself if MIT is for you!
Best of all - If you sign up for either the Capital City
Half Marathon or the Commit To Be Fit 5k - and
train with MIT - bring a copy of this e-mail into Fleet
Feet Sports - 1174 E. Powell Road - anytime in
January and get a free pair of technical running
socks - a $9.00 value!
So you save $10 off
the event,
$10 off MIT and get a pair of socks. Now that is a
Holiday Plan!
"Life
is an occasion, rise to it."

Team in Training
An Official Charity Training Program
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In
Training program is an official charity
training program for the Capital City Half Marathon!
This will be Central Ohio's fifth year
participating in this event, and they are looking forward
to bringing their biggest Team in 2010! TNT is hoping
to raise well over $150,000 for this event alone. The
money will go toward research, patient services and
education in efforts to find a cure for blood cancers.
See what has motivated TNT team members to
participate.
If you are looking to train for the Capital City Half
Marathon and are interested in doing it through Team
In Training, please contact them at (614) 476-7194,

Join us On Facebook!
This is YOUR Cap City site!
Ok, I am figuring out these social networking tools a
bit and really like them. We have been working
with Bryan Huber of Huber and Co, and soon our
Facebook Fan
Page will be
customized with videos, training tips, course and
event updates, sponsor special offers and blogs.
More importantly this will be your opportunity to provide
input, share your training
experiences, photos, videos and communicate with
other
participants and the M3S Team.
