The registration fee for the Dublin Irish Festival 4 Miler
increases tomorrow. Save $5 and register today.

Dublin Irish Festival
4 Miler. Registration is almost half full and it will
sell out. Due to the width of the streets, we can not
make any exceptions this year.
This running and walking event is on Thursday, July
30th at 7pm in historic
downtown Dublin, Ohio.

On Friday, Tim Flahavin of Fleet Feet and I were on the
patio of the Dublin Village Tavern "discussing" plans
for this year's event. I then headed over to special
dinner at Tucci's down the street.
We then
got up early on Saturday to run with Tim and
the MIT group of about 250 people this past weekend
and the excitement for this year's Irish Festival 4
Miler is already mounting. This will be a record
event.
I spoke with John Davidson and he will bring his
bagpipes and maybe even his whole bagpiper band
on race night.
"Sláinte" is commonly used as a drinking toast in
Ireland and Scotland. We will use it on Thursday night
to begin the event. It means literally "Good Health",
and that is what we are all about.

Crawl . Wear your finisher's medal and toast your

This race kicks off the Dublin Irish Festival. This is one
of the biggest and best Irish Festivals in the country.

5k. Columbus, Ohio. Registration is now open
and limited to 10,000.

Your "Live Fit" Tip of the Week!
Beat Diabetes with Regular Exercise!
M3S is focused on producing the ultimate running and
walking events. We also want to provide you with
great "living fit" tips. Hearing that 80 percent of our
healthcare expenses are spent on treating Heart
Disease, Diabetes and Obesity, I thought a weekly tip
might be in order.
This past weekend I
picked up Dr. Maoshing Ni's Secrets of Longevity book
for my Mother's early birthday gift. The book is packed
with hundreds of ways to live to be 100.
Sometimes the simplest things can improve your
health picture substantially. Daily aerobic exercise can
help reduce sugar in the bloodstream by causing the
muscles to use up excess glucose (blood sugar), the
hallmark of diabetes. Regular exercise can help
patients with type I diabetes utilize their insulin more
effectively. In others, aerobic exercise stimulates the
pancreas to produce more insulin, virtually precluding
type II diabetes.
