The 7th Annual IPGA Conference Board Power: The Ends Are The Beginning Hosted by Conference Chair, Carol Gabanna
We're honored to have Carol Gabanna as the IPGA Conference Chair. Carol brings a unique understanding and knowledge to this year's conference event. As an expert facilitator, she stimulates personal and group excellence, whether it is teaching a group of managers how to manage employee performance, facilitating an organization's strategic planning or teaching a board how to govern their not-for-profit organization. She draws on her experiences in a variety of organizations as a manager, a CEO, a board member and an employee. While she loves all the facilitation that she does, governance training and consulting provides the most fulfillment.
Carol works for HRA and is based in Prince Edward Island. She is an accredited practitioner in the Insights® Discovery system, a personal development tool which gives people an understanding of how their personality affects their personal and professional relationships.
Carol is co-author of The Policy Governance Fieldbook published in 1998 and she has published articles in several national publications. She works with boards of every size in fields including health, education, arts, community-based organizations and public institutions. Carol knows that the job of the board is critical, and the board members' time is precious. She says, "There is wisdom in ordinary people and what fuels my passion is finding ways to draw out and connect with that wisdom, especially in all of those ordinary but special people who sit on boards." Thank you Carol for your support and participation in the 2009 IPGA Annual Conference! |
