The reality of child sexual abuse
By Beth Biro
Forensic Sexual Abuse Consultant

Have you noticed that the tweets, Facebook posts and text blasts have made a drastic turn lately? They've shifted from weather gripes and Lindsey Lohan's latest debacles to something taboo and dark: child sexual abuse. Between the innate disbelief and casting of aspersions, it raises one question: Can we talk about the reality of child sexual abuse?

1st Annual Hot Wing Relay Race
A Great success

In October Children's Cove held the first Annual Hot Wing Relay race between several different police departments on Cape Cod at The British Beer Company in Hyannis.

The Brewster Police Department became the first annual champion after 3 close rounds of wing eating and a final round between Brewster and Barnstable Police.  Thank you to all who participated.  We look forward to the 2nd Annual Hot Wing Relay Race on October 18, 2012!

11th Annual Gravy Bowl
Massachusetts State Police and District Attorneys win!

With many fans in attendance and no rain, the Massachusetts State Police and District Attorneys were again victorious in this year's Gravy Bowl, an annual flag football game held at Pop Warner Field in Sandwich.

The MSP and the DAs won 13-12 over the Sandwich Police Department and the Defense Attorney's.

Spectacle of Trees
Children's Cove wins again!

This past Holiday season was successful for Children's Cove, winning this year's Spectacle of Trees at the JFK Museum in Hyannis.  The tree provided by Children's Cove raised $14,715 this year.  The winner of the tree received the decorated tree and ALL the gifts underneath it, valued at over $4,000.  The tree was generously decorated by Deirdre Cullen from Pastiche of Cape Cod.  Thank you to all who took the time to sell tickets to help us reach our goal.  Next year... $20,000!!!

Thank you for taking the time to read our messages and for your continued support of Children's Cove.  Donations are always needed and accepted and can be made by clicking here.
