Hunger does not take Vacations!!!
Summer is usually a fun filled family time with vacations scheduled, weekends trips to the beach, barbecues, etc. But for those who struggle each day to put food on the table, especially for those with children, the thoughts are more of "how do we eat!" When children are in school, moms and dads of low income household can rely on School Breakfast and Lunch Programs to ensure that their children will have a meal, but when the summer is here and the kids are home from school, the burden becomes greater to provide for their meals.
Typically donations are low during the summer months but the demand and the need for assistance with food is still high. HUNGER DOES NOT TAKE A VACATION!! Your Opportunity to Play Baseball with NY Yankee Great Bernie Williams
New York Yankee Legend and HFO Board Member, Bernie Williams, will be putting together a softball team for a charity game on Saturday October 1, 2011. Bernie will be performing a concert at the Ridgefield Playhouse that evening and will is putting together a team to Benefit not only the HFO but also Ridgefield Playhouse and the Boy's and Girl's Club of Ridgefield.
The HFO has 6 tickets available to play against Bernie that afternoon. The cost is $2500 and along with playing in the team against Bernie's team, you will attend a private cocktail reception with Bernie's Team and 10 tickets to the Concert that evening.
