RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: it is something many take for granted while others, in countries where in the past were denied that freedom or are granted only partial freedom, find it something to celebrate. While we are still lacking some of the rights that should be guaranteed us, we still celebrate the fact that we have the right to assemble and worship God. Every year on January 27th Croatia celebrates the Day of Religious Freedom, and Croatian Christian Coalition organizes an annual event to mark that day and to remember those who have given their lives throughout history and still today for the cause of Christ. This year we organized an event at a local library where my wife Bonnie sang and theologian Drago Pilsel and vice-president of the coalition Ana Prebeg spoke on the state of religious freedom in Croatia. During the presentation we also showed a short film about the persecution Christians are facing in Pakistan. Two days beforehand I was privileged to be a guest on a national religious TV show called Ekumena. The topic was on religious freedom, and together with me were guests don Ivan Grubisic who is member of Parliament and a retired priest, and Dragutin Matak who is the secretary for the Organization for Religious Freedom. I spoke about the relationship the Croatian Government has with Croatian Christian Coalition, as well as with other religious groups, and our continued fight for religious freedom. Please continue to pray with us as we continue to fight to realize the freedoms granted to us by law.

ALL OVER THE WORLD the month of February is carnival season: in the United States it is Mardi Gras and in Croatia it is Fasnik; a time when people engorge themselves with carnal pleasure before casting their sins on an inanimate object which will be engulfed with flames as a way of wiping their sins away before they embark on fasting for Lent. Our congregation has devoted this time to intense street evangelism, to spread the message of the true gospel and to let people know that only Jesus can forgive sin. Please join us in prayer for all who will be attending Fasnik this year, that their hearts will be softened and their eyes opened to the truth.

OUR CHURCH HAS FINALLY completed the move. Our Sunday meetings take place in what used to be a disco club, where two other congregations also meet. We hold Sunday classes an hour before the Sunday service at 6 P.M. Our offices are now located at a business / shopping center down the street from our previous location. In our office location we also have an additional room where we hold weekly meetings, such as our Friday prayer meeting. We are very glad that we were able to find a location that is still close to the center of town, where we usually do our weekly street evangelism.
WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE of our third week of home schooling, and it is going very well. The children are adjusting to Bonnie and I being their teachers and to our new schedule. One of the greatest changes we noticed immediately was a greater peace and order in our home. School work is completed much quicker than before, giving the children more free time, and our daily schedule is no longer hectic as we no longer have three children on three different schedules. We also like the idea that we can tailor our program to the immediate needs of our children and focus on their character as well as knowledge. We are looking at possibly moving into bigger home, as we would like to have a school room Please keep this in your prayers, as well as for some funds needed to fix our van and to purchase a smaller second vehicle.

WE ARE SO THANKFUL for each of you - for your prayer and financial support. Please let us know how we can pray for you as well.
IN HIM,
Mario Ducic
