Hear Our Cries

FOR A HARVEST

IT WAS TIME FOR OUR ANNUAL BARBEQUE and baptism at the lake and this year we had the idea to expand the theme.  Not only did we want to invite our friends and family, we wanted to invite those passing by to join us.  We purchased a bunch of hot dogs, hamburgers, and popcorn; we rented a children's blow-up jumping center, and our Sunday children's program leader planned some family fun-time games.  It was a huge success!  We handed out tons of hamburgers and hot dogs and the games were a huge hit.  Of course, we didn't let this opportunity pass without handing out some tracks and sharing the gospel with people.  Down at the lake we baptized a new covert - a young mother who has been attending since just after the New Year.  We praise God for seeds that were sown that day.

SUMMER IS HERE and that means that people will be doing more walking around town, shopping, and enjoying the nice weather. This is, of course, a prime opportunity for us to do more street evangelism. This month some of the children participated and had far more success in handing out tracks than we adults did. We feel that this is a great time for families to minister together, so we are encouraging entire families to get involved in doing street evangelism - and now that summer is here we will be scheduling street evangelism more often during the month. We pray that God will hear our cries and give us a harvest of souls - the fruit of our labors.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA, Ivo Josipović, received a delegation, among which I was present, from Croatian Christian Coalition, which is made up of three registered religious communities of reformation-protestant orientation: Crkva Cjelovitog Evandelja, The Assembly of Churches "Word of Life", and The Protestant Reformed Christian Church.  These three churches are suing the Republic of Croatia at the International Courts for Human Rights in Strasbourg because they feel the are discriminated against in relation to the faith groups that signed a contract with the Republic of Croatia in regards to congregational interest.  Because of their inability to sign a contract, members of these religious communities have not been able to realize their religious rights.  The President of the Republic, Ivo Josipović, is principally against every kind of discrimination and supported their efforts for realizing the religious freedom that is guaranteed in the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia and the Law on Rightful Position of Religious Communities in the Republic of Croatia, particularly the rights to Christian education, church weddings, and extending pastoral care to their believers in the hospitals, prisons, and social institutions."  This article is a translated version of what was written on the President's website.   We sincerely thank God for this opportunity and seeming breakthrough in our efforts to abolish discrimination in Croatia.

THANK YOU for your prayers, keep praying for us as we continue to fight, sow, and extend Christ's kingdom here!

IN HIM,

Mario Ducic
