Arno's Support Team
The Man Behind Scofield

Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily
after the error of Balaam for reward. Jude 1:11

Earlier  in  his career  Arno had been a  Methodist  missionary  working to
reach Jews on the lower East Side. He and  his family were supported by
the church. [16] But he was  accused  of  Judiazing [17] and  when  the
Zionist movement began he severed  his  relationship with the Methodist
church. [18]    He  then   started  his   magazine  which  stated  that  it
"preached to the Gentile church  in  behalf  of the Jew." His new ministry
was supported by Zionists.

His   account  of  his  meeting   Scofield  reveals  that  he  arranged  the
financing  for  Scofield's  proposed  reference  bible. [19]  But  Arno  was
writing a cover-up and  not  an objective history  of the events. We now
know  that  Scofield  was  being  managed  by   Samuel Untermeyer [20]
and that the book  was owned  by the  Fabian socialist  Oxford University
Press. Oxford University Press had opened its New York office in 1896.

So it  is  more  probable  that  Untermeyer was working with contacts at
Oxford in England  and  they hired Arno  to do the book while Untermeyer
controlled the front man.

SUntermeyerArno lists the financial backers of the book. Two of them were
members of the Lotus Club on 14th Avenue. Other contributors
were mentioned but none that he listed were Jews. Untermeyer
who  was  a  member  of  the  Lotus Club  and  was  controlling
Scofield   was   not  mentioned.   Arno  knew  Untermeyer  was
paying Scofield's rent at the club.  Apparently,  Arno chose not
to mention the names of his Jewish backers.

Mark Twain made  a famous talk at Lotus Club in 1900,  Scofield might have been in the audience. He lived there at the kindness
of his Bolshevik friends.
It  is  interesting  that on  page 2  of the original  Scofield Bible, Scofield
acknowledged  the  influence   of  Oxford  scholar   B. F.  Westcott. [21]
Scofield travelled to England to meet him. It has always  been a question
who financed that expensive trip.

Westcott  had  died  in 1903 while  the  book was being  written. He was
close to James Balfour. He and Balfour were  both deeply into spiritualism
and had seances together at Balfour's London townhouse. [22]

Balfour who was one of the most powerful men in England was an ardent
Zionist.  He and his  close friend Edmond Rothschild were the signatories
to the infamous Balfour Agreement which deeded   Palestine to the Jews
in 1917.  Rothschild  controlled Jacob Schiff in New York  who controlled
Samuel Untermeyer.

So  we  see that  Gaebelein and  Scofield  were connected to a Bolshevik
Jew and  a  closet  Jesuit in the  Church of England.  Each  of these men
were but one  face away from Edmond Rothschild. Rothschild it was said,
"owned" Zionism.

If Edmond Rothschild was involved in the  Scofield Bible project he would
see to it that no one  ever knew it. He  always operated through agents.
David  Rausch   mentions  that  people  were  "filtering"  money  to  Arno
and  unlike  other ministers  at  that  time,  he  always  seemed  to have
money. [23]

Rothschild began pouring a fortune into  Zionism at about  the time Arno
started  his  Zionist  magazine  in 1894.  Some  of that money may have
trickled   down  to  the lower  East  side.  And Arno, like Balaam,  was a
prophet for hire.
