December Rohatsu Sesshin
December Friday-Sunday, 10th - 12th, starts 8 p.m. Friday Weekend Retreat / Sesshin / Last retreat of the year
A meditation retreat, consisting of zazen, kinhin, samu (working meditation) and mindfulness throughout the day & night, including chanting services and opportunity for dokusan (formal interview with Roshi). Arrive early, so we are ready to begin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday with an opening ceremony in the Dharma Hall. Plan to stay at DZC Friday and Saturday nights; the retreat ends after Service on Sunday. Bring sleeping bag/bedding
(NOTE: RSVP or first-arrived get preference for beds), towels and personal toiletries, comfortable, warm clothes, (including work clothes, hat and gloves).
Formal vegetarian meals are included..

December 5th: Bodhi Day Celebration
December 5th has been set as the date for our ceremony and celebration of Buddha's Enlightenment day.
Transmission of Mind Seal - Most Venerable Thích Ân Giao Roshi will conduct a formal public ceremony of Transmission of the Light - Dharma Mind Seal, during the Sunday service. This ceremony will recognize the attainment of two Soto Zen priests, Ken Hogaku Sho McGuire and Fern Shin Getsu Myosen McGuire, of the Dharma Mountain Zendo Potluck Luncheon - Party! Bring your "signature" vegetarian dish to share. Dont forget to bring an instrument (and/or your voice) for the music-making!
