Gurnee & Buffalo Grove, IL - October, 2011 - Dave Lyke brings over 20 years of experience with him to Arbor Counseling Center. He is a graduate of both Loyola University of Chicago where he obtained his Master of Arts in Counseling, and the University of Dallas where he earned a Master of Divinity in Theology. 

Dave's 20 years of clinical experience in psychotherapeutic services cover a wide range of clientele including adolescents, couples and families. He also holds his Illinois Type 78 license as a School Counselor. Dave is known for his geniune, empathetic and empowering approach in helping clients connect to their highest potential.

TREATMENT MODELS:

  • Family Systems: This approach examines how interactional patterns within families can affect the individual and how changing these patterns can bring about progress.
  • Solution-Focused: How looking at exceptions, successes and creating specific, achievable goals helps to focus efforts in finding everyday solutions.
  • Psychodynamic: This explores how family and cultural history has shaped one's view of the world and how this insight can facilitate change in the present and hope for the future.
  • Spiritual Connections: This approach integrates spirituality and the client's personal and communal faith into the treatment. Used only when preferred by the client.
