Produmar Obtains
GLOBALG.A.P. Certification
Last September, Produmar farm located in Ecuador, was audited under the GLOBALG.A.P. standards by Union Control. Aquamar farm was certified earlier this year making these farms the only two GLOBALG.A.P. Certified farms in the Americas. Both farms market their product exclusively through Tropical. GLOBALG.A.P. certification is designed to ensure safety and sustainability for a variety of aquaculture products. The standard covers a wide range of points of the production cycle including integrity of the product, food safety, responsible use of resources, worker safety and animal welfare. "GLOBALG.A.P. verifies many of the practices already implemented at our farm. Above all, it has helped reinforce the relationship between the employees and the community," said Eduardo Reyes, Production Manager at the farm." Read more THINKSUSTAINABLETHINKTROPICAL
