Last September, Produmar farm located in Ecuador, was audited under the GLOBALG.A.P. standards by Union Control. Aquamar farm was certified earlier this year making these farms the only two GLOBALG.A.P. Certified farms in the Americas. Both farms market their product exclusively through Tropical. GLOBALG.A.P. certification is designed to ensure safety and sustainability for a variety of aquaculture products. The standard covers a wide range of points of the production cycle including integrity of the product, food safety, responsible use of resources, worker safety and animal welfare. "GLOBALG.A.P. verifies many of the practices already implemented at our farm.
