DESTINATIONS
Tahiti
The Meridien Tahiti Resort sits on the south of the main island, across from Moorea. The resort offers a sand-bottom pool, over-water bungalos, a well-equipped sports center, and a few doors down from the beach front Museum of Tahiti.
Moorea, 7 miles from the main island, is likely the most scenic world class scuba destinations. Biking is also a popular way to experience Moorea. A 37-mile paved road allows bikers of all levels to experience a land of friendly, relaxed people who will do anything to help.
Fruit stands generally do not sell water, but this Tahitian native went into her personal stash to fetch a 2-liter bottle of icy water for two tired bikers -- the highlight of this exploratory trip for Venture Up.
Hotel Kaveka, a family-owned hotel, is away from the crowds, and offers waterfront bungalos, a fishing wharf and a chance to unwind in the shadow of Moorea's famous peaks.
