Hello Shooters,
Believe it or not it's been just over a year since Second Amendment Inc. (SAI) came under new ownership and became Second Amendment Outfitters (SAO). As promised, not a lot has changed at your friendly neighborhood gun range. We still differentiate ourselves from our competition by delivering a safe and comfortable shooting experience in a non-intimidating environment while offering a decent inventory of competitively priced guns and accessories and the convenience of special ordering whatever you have your heart set on.
Our customer-centered approach coupled with economic uncertainty and an upcoming presidential election has helped us achieve unprecedented growth over the past year. All of us at SAO thank you for our ongoing success and we look forward to serving your needs for many years to come.
While much has remained unchanged since we became SAO, we do have some exciting new services to announce...
Test your metal against our steel
Some of you may have noticed our new steel targets on lanes 5 and 6 in the past couple of weeks. We've purchased a hostage target, a "dueling tree", two swinging plates and a silhouette popper. They all deliver instant feedback with that distinctive clang and they all automatically re-set so there's no need to go down range. We're still trying to figure out the best way to offer this fun new experience on an ongoing basis but here's how we'll start:
1. Targets will be available Monday through Thursday during our normal business hours, 10am - 7pm.
2. Targets may be engaged by a single shooter from lane 6 or from both 5 and 6 by two shooters in the same group (for a dueling tree competition, for instance). Any shooter engaging steel from lanes 1-4 will be ejected immediately, banned from SAO and may be subject to prosecution.
3. Shooters will pay a $5 surcharge in addition to their applicable day pass rate. Shooters may move between paper target lanes and steel lanes with guidance from SAO staff.
4. Steel targets may only be engaged using frangible ammo purchased at SAO. As this is a serious safety issue, violators caught using anything else will be prosecuted.
We are continuing our search for the lowest cost, most effective and reliable frangible ammunition and have tested several brands and suppliers already. Unfortunately, this stuff doesn't come cheap. But we've "skinnied' our margins considerably to allow as many shooters as possible to enjoy this unique experience. Right now, we can only get 9mm and 40 S&W priced at $22.99 and $26.99 for a box of 50 rounds. A bit high, yes, but where else can you shoot steel in an air conditioned range? Think of the video-opps (and the money you'll save on paper targets :0)
Satisfy your suppression obsession at SAO
Another big change we've made at the shop is the acquisition of our Class 3 status which allows us to stock, sell, transfer and rent machine guns, short barrel rifles and shotguns and suppressors (or silencers). We're still waiting for two M4 automatic rifles, one in 5.56 and the other in 9mm that we'll be able to rent for use in the range. We'll get an email out to you just as soon as they arrive.
We also have suppressors on order in .22, 9mm and 5.56 which you can handle and demo on the range attached to your gun or one of ours. They should arrive in the next couple of weeks or so. In the meantime, we have lined up a variety of manufacturers and distributors of suppressors  from whom we can order your preferred "can" and get the lengthy buying process started. Or, if you're thinking of ordering one online, you can transfer it through us for a $50 fee.
Our suppliers include Yankee Hill, Liberty Suppressors, Knights Armament Co., GPI Custom Gunworks, Spikes Tactical, Gemtech and more. We should be able to find exactly what you're looking for at a competitive price. Plus, we can help you with your Gun Trust needs if necessary.

Inventory night at the gun shop has its rewards
Anyone who's ever worked retail knows what a pain doing a physical inventory can be. But, it's an important job that must be done regularly, particularly at a gun shop which must keep meticulous records for the BATF.
What our recent inventory told us was that there has been another important change since SAI became SAO - we now  carry a bit more than double the product we did when the shop changed hands on August 4th, 2011. That's great news for you because we now have more variety to choose from, and while we can't compare with the really big firearms retailers, we make it up in the sound advice you'll get when shopping with SAO.
The other thing we learned on inventory night was that a  little fresh-caught cobia (compliments of this lucky angler and his son), grilled on hickory planks goes a long way toward keeping the troops happy during an otherwise tedious task.
Finally, we learned that we still have a beautiful, lightly used Custom Shop Kimber Super Carry Ultra HD we took in as part of a trade. This awesome pistol, with an MSRP of over  $1,600, has been on the shelf at $1,175 for far too long. So, in a last ditch effort to move it out the door (and keep it from landing on the hip of yours truly), we've marked it down to $1,050. We'll even throw in a Bulldog gun rug. That's a ridiculous price on this sweet little 1911 so don't wait too long.
