Our message to you....
Downtown Westfield has gone through a tremendous change in the past 6 months. Our town is very fortunate to have received the funding to improve our infrastructure. But "change doesn't come easy" and it's been tough, to say the least. Our downtown merchants and businesses are bearing the brunt of that pain. They need your help to be able to make it through the next year of this project. Many have very unique and varied gift ideas so please remember to stop in and support them. Keep reading below for just some of the upcoming holiday specials and promotions!
We will also be holding our monthly merchant meeting, Wednesday, Nov. 10th from 8:15 am - 9:30 am in the BID office at 48 Elm St, Suite 5. On our agenda are upcoming holiday promotions and advertising strategies.

presents...
Dick Hardwick
Comedian, Laughing is his life...Laughing is his business Monday, November 15, 2010 Dever Auditorium 7 pm
At the age of 18, Dick Hardwick embarked upon a long-awaited journey to New Orleans to have his first look at Mardi Gras and discovered a sound called Dixieland- something that was brand-new to his ears. This sound was absolutely intoxicating to Hardwick and marked the true birth of his career as a comedian, although he was totally unaware of any milestone at the time- because to him it was just "horsing around" in-between songs! A quick study in many musical instruments gave Hardwick an obvious edge, but he also had something else, maybe even more important. He ENJOYED it.
He LOVED it. And to this day, Dick Hardwick can cut straight through to the heart of any crowd... anywhere... because it still makes him happy to see folks having a good time.

YMCA of Greater Westfield Preschool Celebrates 50 Years!
The YMCA of Greater Westfield Preschool has entered its 50th year of existence this fall and will celebrate this significant milestone with a very special evening event on Tuesday, November 16th from 7:00-8:30PM.
We are inviting former students, teachers, administrators and others associated with the YMCA over the years to attend our celebration. The evening program will be a time for reminiscing, reconnection and fun and will be held in the very space where school began for thousands of children who attended the Y preschool; the YMCA Mansion, located at 67 Court Street.
There will be a photo exhibit, the making of a time capsule, a video and program presentation, and kid friendly games for recent grads and their parents. Light hors d'oeuvres, refreshments and a giant size birthday cake will be served. The Y is collecting photos prior to the event to scan for the video presentation. These may be dropped off at the Y, to the attention of Rosann Scalise, Director of Operations. All photos will be handled with care and returned to their owners.
Also, attendees, if they have a piece of memorabilia from their preschool days that they would be willing to donate, are asked to bring it in the night of the event, for placement in the time capsule. Persons interested in attending are asked to RSVP to Michelle Anamisis, Child Care Director by Nov. 12th at manimisis@westfieldymca.org or 568-8631 ext 306.
