 Westfield State College Announces Student Housing Westfield State College announced today the Massachusetts Division of
Capital Asset Management (DCAM) has selected Lansdowne Place, located
at 38 Thomas Street in Westfield, as the site of Westfield State
College's first downtown student apartment housing location.
Steady
growth in enrollment at the college has resulted in substantial demand
for student housing that exceeds Westfield State's on-campus housing
capacity. DCAM will lease Lansdowne Place on behalf of the college
from FS Holdings Lansdowne, LLC for 10 years.

Public ForumMonday, June 14th
Mayor Dan Knapik will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 14th at 7:00 p.m. at the South Middle School Auditorium.
At
this hearing he will update everyone on the status of the Town Green
restoration, the Great River Park Bridge construction, and his
initiative to plant over 200 trees in 2 years.

Musical Moments in Amelia's Garden
Amelia Park Ice Arena is proud to present "Musical Moments In Amelia's Garden" every Tuesday beginning June 1 through August 24th.
The concerts will begin at 6:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the beautiful flowers, sunset, and

Western Mass Knights Adult Sled Hockey Team.

Basket Raffle Sponsored by the Friends of the Westfield Athenaeum
The Friends of the Athenaeum are pleased to announce it is sponsoring a fundraising raffle of over a dozen different gift baskets and other items going on now in the Athenaeum.
The baskets include gift certificates, wine, bath and body products, and specialty food and holiday themes. The baskets are on display at the main desk in the adult services department. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.
All monies raised will be used to enhance the library programs and services. Raffle winners will be drawn on Friday, June 18th during the evening reception for the formal unveiling of The Story of Westfield Mural.
Noted muralist David Fitcher of Cambridge was commissioned in 2008 to create this unique representation of Westfield in pictures. Stretching 44 feet across and 7 feet high on the north wall of the Reference and Information Services Room, the mural depicts many familiar and historical scenes of Westfield and promises to be something the whole community will enjoy for years to come.
The reception begins at 5:30 p.m., and tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple. Tickets must be purchased in advance. For reservations, please call Candy Pennington at 413-568-0638.
