'Tis WinterGreen Days 2010, Westfield's 5th annual celebration of the end of winter and the beginning of spring. This March and April, discover what's happening in the District, Westfield's Downtown. In the restaurants and pubs, enjoy fine food, drink, friends and entertainment. In the shops, there are sales and promotions everywhere. WinterGreen Days offers residents and visitors alike a chance to beat the winter blues and to celebrate the return of spring!Click here for a complete Calendar of Events.  Shenanigan's Pub and Restaurant recently opened their doors at 150-154 Elm St. with a ribbon cutting ceremony officiated by Mayor Dan Knapik.
Serving food with an authentic Irish flair, the restaurant will introduce new hours starting Monday, March 22. Monday - Thursday 7am-7pm, and Fri, Sat, & Sun 7am - 7pm. Shenanigan's was recently approved for a "Pouring" license, stay tuned for more details....

Westfield Yarn & Thread Studio

Westfield Yarn & Thread Studio offers classes
in many of the fiber arts; crochet, knitting, weaving, quilting,
tatting, spinning, sewing, felting, rug hooking & embroidery.
Classes being held this March & April include: Mother/Daughter Knitting, on Saturday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30 am and Beginner's Knitting on Wednesdays from 5:30 pm. to 7:00 pm. Owner Kathy Coache has plenty of knitting needles and yarn or bring your own if you have them and/or your favorite yarn if your prefer. In April she will offer a class on "Machine Sewing" which will involve learning to cut out from a pattern and
sew your own clothes! If you are interested, please let her know and she
will give you instructions on what to bring to class. She has sewing
machines available but you are welcome to bring your own if you are more

From Snow To Sand....
 The WBID Clean Team was busy this past month cleaning up aft er the latest March storm, snowblowing the sidewalks for the downtown BID properties, then when the warm weather rolled in soon after, they moved onto sand removal; providing a safe and clean downtown for pedestrians.
