Greetings!

Join the National Center in hoping for peace in families, communities and nations during this holiday season.  We hope 2010 will be the year we all make tremendous progressDDT_photo in our shared goals of ending domestic and sexual violence.

If you are searching for a last minute gift for someone special, what about sending them a beautiful arrangement that benefits the National Center at the same time (see the announcement below).  Or, you could honor a friend or family member with a contribution to the National Center.  We will notify your honoree of your generous gift.  We rely upon public support to carry out much of our work, particularly advocacy for improved policies and practices.  Thank you for your ongoing support!

The National Center board and staff wish you and yours a very happy holiday season and a wonderful new year!

Call Your Member of Congress to Support Increased Funding for Domestic Violence Services

Congress needs to hear our voices about services for victims of domestic violence!

During the economic downturn many domestic violence programs are struggling to meet the increased demand for life-saving services as their budgets are shrinking.  The reauthorization of the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) offers victims hope and it will allow programs to continue to save lives and end the horrific cycle of violence.  FVPSA is needed now more than ever!

Reauthorizing FVPSA will:

  • Allow communities to continue to provide life-saving services to victims of domestic violence and their children including emergency shelters, crisis lines, counseling and advocacy;
  • Help to meet the needs of underserved communities; and
  • Help break the cycle of violence.

Call Today!

Call your Representative today and let her/him know the importance of FVPSA's swift reauthorization.  When victims who face life-threatening abuse reach out for help, we must make sure they can receive the support they need to be safe and secure.
