COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD LUNCHEON
 
group4Asia Houston Network will honor outstanding community leaders at the annual Community Leadership Awards Luncheon on December 2.  The honorees are Donna Fujimoto Cole, President/CEO of Cole Chemical; and Elsie Huang, Chair of the Mayor's International Affairs and Development Council-Asia/Australia.  Hon. Theresa Chang and Dr. Peter Chang are Honorary chairs; and Pattie Shieh, anchor and Emmy-nominated reporter of KRIV FOX 26, will serve as mistress of ceremonies.
 
Donna is a third generation Japanese-American. She founded Cole Chemical 30 years ago at the age of 27, divorced with a four-year daughter with $5,000 from savings. The company has grown consistently and its sales were in excess of $70 million in 2008. Read more.  Elsie retired as the president of the Asian Chamber of Commerce this summer, after serving for six years. In 1996, she retired as principal in the Katy Independent School District with 26 years of educational experience. Read more.

MEET JOHNATHAN NGUYEN, VICE PRESIDENT, ASIA HOUSTON NETWORK
 
JN3Johnathan Nguyen is employed by Chevron Information Technology Company (CITC) in Houston, Texas as a GIL 3 Deployment Consultant.  In this role, he helps plan and implement the newest computing platform which links Chevron's offices worldwide.  He is tri-lingual - speaking and writing English, Spanish and Vietnamese, and is an active member of the Houston Spanish Speaking Club since 2005. In 2007, he spent two weeks immersed in the Spanish language and Mexican culture at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. This year, he spent time in Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico advising and working with various GIL 3 deployment teams whose members come from diverse cultural backgrounds.
