Subject to regulatory and government approval, the sale was completed in February 2010. GM will continue to supply Saab with engines, transmissions and also completed vehicles in the shape of the new Saab 9-4x from GM's Mexico factory. Sweden to build 1,100 Wind Power Turbines

The WindTurbineSwedish government has approved the construction of an enormous wind power park in Northern Sweden about 50 miles west of the city of Luleå. The wind turbines will reach 650 ft. above ground with rotor diameters ranging from 270 to 410 ft. The wind turbines will cover a total area of 175 square miles. This area is mainly uninhabited and used by Laps who let their reindeer graze there during wintertime.

When fully developed, this wind power park will produce 8-12 TWh per year, which corresponds to two nuclear power station or domestic power for two million normal residential houses. Today, wind power in Sweden generates around 3 TWh per year.

Last but not Least

This is what our new member Jeff Hinton of D+S Distribution recently wrote after attending his first SACC-Ohio meeting:

Gentlemen,
What an outstanding event. It is good to hear the optimistic views expressed by Urban Lundberg. Networking by both US companies and Swedish firms is key to grow the market for both sides. We are excited about our new venture with Nordic Light. This is the type of project we can highlight to other Swedish firms looking to gain entry into the US market. D+S Distribution can be a true supply chain partner to any type of company looking to the US. From manufacturing to warehousing and distribution we can offer a flex space and labor model that allows the customer to focus on one thing - GROW THEIR BUSINESS.
Thanks again for the warm welcome. D+S Distribution is looking forward to a long and successful partnership with SACC-Ohio and SACC-US.

Regards,
Jeff Hinton
