SIAA's 32nd Semi-Annual Business Meeting will be held October 6 - 8, 2011 at the Marriott San Antonio Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX. Attendees will include Master Agency Principal Owners and Recruiters, Strategic Partner Companies, Program and Vendor partners and key SIAA executives.
SIAA Business meetings afford an opportunity for the exchange of ideas, best practices and industry news to strengthen the alliance, furthering the success of its members and partners.

Q1 THRU Q2 2011 REPORT |

It's that time of year again; as we wind down the summer season, we also finalize our Q2 results. This report is intended to share our national results with you.
The first 6 months of 2011 showed continued strong growth in numbers of members and premium writings as this report will show. We also continue a strong penetration with our Strategic Partner Companies (SPCs) with the percentage of in-force written premium growing per our plan at 45%.
As a way to build up Strategic Partner Company penetration, we intend to increase attention on consolidations of non-SIAA company profitable books with our SPCs. Also as new independent insurance agencies are created by direct writers/captive agents as well as existing smaller agencies, SPC s are the first choice for sub-codes and AccessPlus opportunities.
Preparations are in full swing for our Semi-Annual Business Meeting taking place in San Antonio this October, with over 220 attendees already registered. A new feature on the schedule - some of our most forward thinking and successful Master Agencies will participate in a panel discussion where they will share some of their best marketing and business development practices. One of the key benefits to membership and these meetings is learning from each other. Based on what we have seen so far, this session will truly be very informative! We continue to invest in the advancement of InsuranceDeals4U.com (ID4U) which now has online quoting rating platforms- EZLynx and Vertafore PL agents are able to interface with ID4U leads to provide online quoting. We are the ONLY independent insurance agency organization to offer this service on a national basis.
Please take a few minutes to review this report as it is intended to keep you informed on services that sometimes are taken for granted. As I look over the breadth of offerings we provide to members, I am pleased with the evolution of our unique alliance. Our programs, training support, marketing services, etc. are second to none in our line of business. Thank you!

New Member Agency Report
Our new member growth remains solid. As of June 30th, 182 new ISMs were signed. Of that number, 143 were new to the independent insurance agency system from direct writers' and captive agents' ranks. Their books now move into the independent insurance agency companies' premium writings. 39 existing agencies brought their books into our totals.
85 of the new member agencies came from member and insurance company referrals. That speaks volumes for our model as it is clearly recognized that it works for all agencies and those wanting to become independent insurance agencies owning and operating their own business.

Consolidation Report
SIAA's book roll and consolidation program has been very strong over the past year as evidenced by the $58MM in premium that was consolidated by 203 member agencies in 2010, but these book rolls and consolidations were limited by the SPCs' inability to capture book rolls outside of an individual Master Agency state or territory. With the implementation of Rate Matching in the majority of our Master Agency territories, SIAA Strategic Partner Companies now have the ability to market their book roll capabilities and competitively capture business from the regional and mutual carriers of non-Strategic Partner Companies that do not support the SMA business model. As a result, SIAA SPCs that provide rate matching on book rolls are now positioned to capture members' non-SPC books of business across entire regions, and for the first time with SIAA, roll business on a national basis!
SIAA Members write business with over 900 companies and report to SIAA the premium of EVERY company they place business with. The top 25 non-SPCs alone represent over $450MM in premium that could be rolled to our Strategic Partners. That is in addition to the $250MM+ in new premium that has filtered into the IA distribution channel over the past several years from our former direct writer and captive ISMs.
Over the next few months we will be making a number of changes to our premium reporting systems that will give us a very clear look at what is written by our member agencies. Our goal is to combine as much business as possible with our Strategic Partners from non-SIAA companies and we will be working closely with SIAA SPCs to develop and implement national book roll programs. During our SIAA Business Meeting in San Antonio this October, we will be rolling out a new National Book Roll Program to our members. As part of the SIAA SPC National Book Roll Program we'll be providing SIAA SPCs with premium penetration reports of SIAA non-SPCs on a state by state basis. Our goal is to combine as much business as possible with our Strategic Partners from non-SIAA companies.

Consumer interest in our Google AdWords campaign continues to increase, with our click-through rate of the past 60 days up sixfold from the same period in 2010. Average search position ranking for this summer has jumped to 2.5, up from 6.1 in the first half of this year.
A major enhancement planned for the site in 2011 is the introduction of social media, which will serve to draw more attention from search engines in addition to establishing interaction with potential customers. The site will undergo continuous improvements over the next couple of years as part of our initiative to generate more leads for all SIAA members.
Agents can now connect their EZLynx and Vertafore (PL Rater) online quoting platforms to insurancedeals4u.com. Consumers visiting the site are able to select an online quoting option. There is a significant advantage to SIAA member agents integrating their platforms into the site and at no additional cost to members for EZLynx CPLive product. 2011 has brought a number of enhancements to the APS MarketFinder website, including the ability to better search products, directly and conveniently submit business, and a live toll free help number. With over $400 Million of this business now spread over several hundred wholesalers and MGAs, our opportunity to generate significant additional income from combining books is really taking shape. Marketing Update - SIAA Online Storefront
The SIAA online storefront continues to attract members as registered users in 2011. Currently, over 1,000 members are registered for the storefront and with over 100 unique items available for order, including new brochures and mailers promoting the following items: hurricane preparedness, new agent announcements, landscaper and veterinary insurance. Stay tuned, as more items are in development, and plans are in motion to give the storefront a new look, designed to make it easier to navigate, browse items and place orders.
