Getting Good at Life Newsletter!
April  2009
Greetings!

The first quarter of the year is over!  Is it me or has time flown by?  When you look back over the last three months, are you satisfied with what you've accomplished?  If so--congratulations!  If not--don't fret, I've got something to help you out!

Just remember, there's no time to slow down or shrink back.  Don't rest on your laurels or give up because you haven't made a dent in the things you intended to do. It's time to turn up the momentum and refocus.

This e-newsletter will help you on your journey.  It's full of resources and links to help you readjust and keep you on track.  So when you finish reading, don't just push "delete," pass it on to someone else.

Let's get started--it's time to take it to the next level and really get good at life!

Warmest Regards,
Dr. Carolyn

P.S. I always love hearing from you!  Send me a note by responding to this email or visiting me at my online home!

"Action Precedes Motivation!"
I recently talked to a friend about a project she started working on after years of procrastinating.  She was extremely happy because she struggled with lack of motivation.  I celebrated with her as I understood first-hand how difficult it can be to move away from procrastination and toward action.

Sometimes we  procrastinate, because we are simply afraid of the outcome.  For example, some people procrastinate about leaving a bad relationship, because they are afraid of being lonely.  Others procrastinate about having a difficult discussions because they are afraid of being rejected.  While still others, procrastinate on leaving their jobs and launching their business, because they are afraid of failure or success.

So, following my friend's story, I made sure to point out to her the steps she took to  turn her dread into excitement.  I told her that "action precedes motivation" -- a quote by Robert McKain that has helped me quite a bit! Sometimes you have to just take a step to get  excited rather than waiting to feel excited before you take a step.  See, when you begin to move toward your goals,  you gain momentum and when you gain momentum you ignite motivation!

If you have something you've been putting off, don't procrastinate any longer, take a action and watch your motivation grow!

Are You Tweeting?
There's so much buzz about Twitter these days!  Even Oprah and Larry King are "tweeting!"  Are you still confused about what Twitter is and how you can use it in ways that add value to your already  busy life?

Twitter is a micro-blogging social platform that allows you 140 characters to broadcast to or communicate with "followers."  Though Twitter can initially appear to be another time consuming activity, it has significant potential to promote your business and bring visibility to your message or ministry.  If you want to learn more about how to use twitter to promote your work, read an interesting blog post by Copy Blogger--"How to Use Twitter to Grow Your Business."
