Taylor Swift in Concert
at NFL Saints Kickoff  | The Saints - Taylor Swift - Chateau Connection
Dave Matthews Band and Taylor Swift will perform at the NFL's annual kickoff concert here in New Orleans.
The league said Monday the Grammy-winning artists will hold the show in Jackson Square, right before the Super Bowl champion Saints face the Minnesota Vikings at the Superdome to open the season Sept. 9.
Once again, a lucky Paige and daughter Ainsley get to be stage-side with Taylor Swift and her Aunt Allison, who is a good friend of the family.
On a different note, thank you from the bottom of our heart for your generous donations to our favorite new charter school project, Lycee Francais de la Nouvelle Orleans. Only with the help of wonderful people like you can a meaningful project such as this be accomplished.

We will remain closed on Mondays until September 13th. Then we're back to Monday through Saturday, as usual.
Saints games in September are: away game in Tennesee, a home game against the Vikings, away at the San Francisco 49ers, and a noon game against Atlanta.... (see the Saints site for their schedule).

| FOOTBALL SEASON SPECIAL! PETITES PLATES JUST $5 | |  Mirror, mirror, on the wall. What's the tastiest plate of all?
$5 petite plates will be served at our bar every day during football season from 5:30 onward. Chef Jacques will create these very special petite plates daily from such tasty items as scallops, escargot, shrimp, etc.
Come watch the games in style at Chateau du Lac Bistro and have a petite plate. The first regular season opening night game is September 9th against the notorious Minnesota Vikings, starting at 7:30 so come over.

| MEET OUR NEW MANAGER: JEFF HIRSTIUS | |  Chateau Means "Home"
According to our new manager, Jeff Hirstius, "Customer" is a bad word. Jeff is striving for better service than that. When they come to Chateau du Lac, "I want people to feel like they are a guest in my own home" he says. He'd like to know them well enough so "when they walk in the door, 9 times out of ten, we know what they like to eat. We know what they want to drink. That's the atmosphere I'm looking to create." His goal: Great customer service that will make you feel like more than just a customer. Jeff Hirstius enjoys building long-lasting relationships.
Many of you may know Jeff from other fine restaurants around town. Most recently, he worked at Dakota, so he is familiar with the type of high standards exemplified at Chateau du Lac. Jeff is very knowledgeable about wines and liquor, as well, and is a great go-to guy if you are looking for suggestions on what wine choice to match with a certain dish.
Jeff will be on duty most days except Thursdays, when Paige will cover for him so he can spend some quality time with his family. So the next time you come in, if you meet a nice looking hospitable gentleman who makes you feel like you're a guest in his very own home, chances are you're visiting with our brand new manager, Jeff Hirstius. |

It is a state charter school that has been applied for and is expected to open by August 2011. "Lycee Francais de la Nouvelle Orleans will provide the opportunity for its students to achieve both the French Baccalaureate and the Louisiana high school diploma in an academically challenging and culturally diverse educational environment. Lycee Francais students will matriculate into the finest colleges and universities throughout the world.
By implementing the comprehensive French national curriculum (recognized worldwide for its excellence) and providing the environment for students to develop the ability to think multi-dimensionally, Lycee Francais will be the first Pre-K through 12th grade French school within the universe of public U.S. Charter Schools."

Jams | Jams: Strawberry, Peach and Plum
Stock up on summer jams, while summer's still here. Chef will be adding mission fig and quince in the fall, and right now we have Louisiana strawberry, white fig, pear, peach and plum jams available. Add these new succulent flavors to your collection just in time for the holidays! Ask your waiter for details or just drop in and pick them up. Prices start at just $6 each.

We'd like to extend a warn welcome to our new Metairie Road neighbors. There's Dunleith Designs & Antiques, LLC, who moved from Magazine street onto 1537 Metairie Road, the building right behind the newly expanding Aucoin Hart. Our friend and customer, Anne Teachworth & Associates Relationship Experts had recently moved from there down to the Metairie Towers office building. Also, right next door to us is a brand new cute boutique called, "All About Me" that we just can't wait to go shopping in. |

We have set up our bar area for those of you who want to watch the Saints while dining. Ask your server about the good spots to sit. We'd like to give a shout out to the Feebleman's, our patrons who love watching the games here every week. If Chateau du Lac issued season tickets for seating, I'm sure they would inquire about it. Love seeing you here at good ol' Table 50. And of course a big hello to our frequent customer, Kelly Daniels (K.D.), who never misses a game here. He's running for the Jefferson Parish School Board, so we hope you'll give his platform a good look.
We are very happy to present to you our new manager, Jeff Hirstius, who exemplifies our values and warmth. You may have already met him at other fine local restaurants over the years. We're thrilled to have him on our team.
