Bear Republic's Racer 5® IPA claims gold at annual competition
CLOVERDALE, CALIF. - Racer 5 India Pale Ale, the flagship brew from Sonoma County's Bear Republic Brewing Company, took home its second gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival and competition in Denver. Racer 5 was up against 70 other beers from American breweries in the American-Style Strong Pale Ale category. This medal marks the 4th for the popular IPA. In 1999 the beer was awarded gold and in 2005 and 2006 it took home the silver medal.

The Great American Beer Festival is the largest American beer competition with more than 3,000 beers entered, 495 participating breweries and more than 100 professional judges.
