This month the freebie sheet music is "Yiesu Klisto yabuam n" (In Jesus Christ's Love). The original music came from a recording of hymns sung by Moba people of Togo, Africa. In the 1980's I requested a missionary, Roger Buck, to send me a tape of some of the songs sung by people in his congregation in Northern Togo.

I also used musical ideas from a group of YouTube videos of current musicians in Northern Togo put on by mobapouo.
I love sharing this with you since I have valued hearing their unique music, sung with such joy! This is set for parts 1 - 4 in various keys so it can be played by many combinations of woodwinds. The download includes the score and all the parts.

Simeon Loring - Barcarolle by Offenbach for woodwind quintet This is an easier piece. It is very melodic and the accompaniment reminds one of a gently rocking boat. Take a look and listen!

Second Suite from "The Wand of Youth - Music to a Child's Play" by Edward Elgar in a setting for woodwind quintet. Elgar wrote the tunes as a child, but 40 years later orchestrated the pieces. I think this music works very well for a woodwind quintet and would make wonderful music for a children's concert. The movements are: March, The Little Bells (Scherzino), Moths and Butterflies, Fountain Dance, The Tame Bear, and The Wild Bears.
