Industry Insider Maximizing Business Opportunities During the Summer Months ![]() 1. Build New Relationships Benefit from the friendly and casual summer atmosphere by reaching out to potential clients and business associates. Invite them to participate in outdoor activities, such as a charity golf tournament, barbeque, summer concert, or even after work drinks on an outdoor patio! Also, we'll be using the time to leverage low cost social media tools, like LinkedIn and Facebook to do some social networking and build an online fan base. 2. Conduct a Customer Satisfaction Survey Do you know how you are perceived in your industry? What do customers value the most from your business? Learning this key information helps us develop even more new business. Don’t be afraid to ask for feedback from the people who use your products and services the most— your customers! This can be easily set up through online customer survey software such as Zoomerang or Survey Monkey. For even greater participation, we like the idea of offering participants an incentive such as a downloadable coupon or discounted service. 3. Keep in touch! Keep in regular contact with your customers via email or social networking sites. For greater impact, give them a telephone call just to touch base! Take advantage of the slower pace during this time by making your current customers a priority. Alternatively, you could find a fun reason to bring them to you- host an open house in which you invite your customers to come to see what you do behind the scenes and in-person. We use face to face time to speak to our clients- past, present, and potential- about our mission, vision and values. As we all know, there is always room for improvement, so we use any slower summer months to maximize our company's business opportunities through internal review, networking, and continually solidifying the relationships we have. Wishing you all a sunny, and equally as productive, summer!!
