The Jewish Pavilion is proud to announce that we have 109 volunteers providing 580 hours of service each month.
We have a very dedicated core of voulnteers who over 40 long term care facilities served by the Jewish Pavilion. In addition to the volunteers, the JP had nine community groups, representing 150 additional volunteers, that visited residents and celebrated holidays with themsince June. They include Ohev Shalom Religious School,Temple Israel Religious School, CRJ, Beit Chaim, JCC South Preschool, the Hebrew Day School students, Sabra Hadassah, Or Hadash and D'or Shalom. The board's goal is to visit the 200 Jewish residents of assisted living and nursing facilities once a week.
In order to achieve this goal more volunteers are needed at Summerville of Ocoee, Horizon Bay at Altamonte Springs, Florida Living in Apopka, Lake Mary Health and Rehab, Summerville at Lake Mary, Island Lake in Longwood, Hunter's Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation in South Orlando, Madison House in South Orlando, The Parks in South Orlando, The Pavilion at Crossing Point in South Orlando and Spring Hills at Hunters Creek in South Orlando.
Beginning in May, the Jewish Pavilion will be entirely dependent on its core of volunteers to visit these facilities. Arlene van de Rijn, the Program Coordinator and Nancy Ludin, the Executive Director will be responsible for making sure that holiday programs continue in all of the Assisted Living faciliites. |
