Tu B'Shevat Programs
Tu B'Shevat -New Year  of the Trees
Ellen Tu B'Shevat

Tu B'shevat, an ecological holiday  which coincides with the growing season in Israel when trees are planted, was celebrated by Jewish Pavilion staff, volunteers and seniors in almost 50 facilities. Residents enjoyed eating fruits, especially those native to Israel such as figs, dates, grapes, and pomegranates. The residents tried new fruits and nuts and said prayers at their Tu B'Shevat seders and festivities. Volunteer Lawrence Morrell and his daughter, Dana, planted fig trees and read poetry in honor of this special holiday. Tu B' Shevat is a time to appreciate our gorgeous world and the Source of all life.

"Building a Legacy of Care"

Steve Sambolm and Lucy

Support our efforts to enhance the lives of Jewish residents in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities throughout Central Florida by providing regular visitation, Shabbat and holiday meals, religious services, rabbinical visits, Yiddish musical programs and other enrichments. We make over 100 visits a week to seniors in fifty long-term care facilities in addition to our group programs. Our respite  program gives caregivers a break on Fridays by allowing their loved ones to meet at the JCC for  day-long activities including a Shabbat service. With  your help, we can expand our program and reach out to more people in need.
