Join the Jewish Pavilion for a Hanukah concert his Sunday, December 14th at 1 PM at Horizon Bay. Howard and Ally Friedman will be performing on guitar and piano. Lakes, doughnuts and noodle pudding will be served. |

Samantha Trattner, a freshman at Lake Mary High School will be performing on Sunday , January 18th at Horizon Bay (formerly known as Merrill Gardens) on Boston Avenue at 1 PM. Samantha is part of a Jewish Music series that was started this year by the leadership of the Jewish Pavilion.
Samantha has had a very successful acting and singing career. She has performed in several shows around town and been involved in numerous choirs. Samantha is a very talented actress and performer. She will be accompanied by her mother, Joanne Fink, owner of Lakeside Designs and a community activist.In addition to great music, Jewish snacks will be provided to all participants.
Lee Delnick, a Kosher catering maven, will be providing Jewish Apple Cake. Elise Schilowitz will also be providing delicious snacks.
Jewish musical programs are offered monthly by the Jewish Pavilion. The next event is February 15th and will feature Dr. Richard Knapp, playing Klezmer music on the banjo.

New Jewish Pavilion Events at Savannah Court/Savannah Cove of Maitland |
Beginning in January, several exciting Jewish Pavilion activities will be taking place at Savannah Court/Savannah Cove of Maitland. A Shabbat dinner option will be offered every week to all of the residents. Foods like brisket, chicken, matzoh ball soup and challah will be served weekly.The Jewish residents will have their Shabbat meal in a private dining room where a Jewish Pavilion volunteer will join the group for candle lighting and other Shabbat blessings. Members of the Mark & Laura Abramson Family will join the residents for a Shabbat Service and meal once a month. In addition to weekly Shabbat meals, Dr. Zena Sulkes will be offering a weekly course to the residents as well as members of the community on Tuesdays from 1:15 pm - 2:15 pm entitled "Jewish Journeys with Zena." The course begins on January 27th and includes topics such as the Tenach, Torah heroes, current events, comparative Judaism and Jewish holidays.

The Jewish Pavilion will be sponsoring Happy Hours every Monday at 3:45 for the residents at Savannah Court/Savannah Cove. Volunteers are need to supply snacks, alcohol and other beverages. The first Happy Hour is scheduled for January 5th. Lee Delnick, who had a successful Kosher hotel and catering business in Massachusetts for many years, will be providing home-made mock chicken liver and crackers for all of the residents. Gloria Newberger, Shirley Meltzer, Bunny Rosen and Sally Sosnoff will be hosting the Happy Hour and helping the residents get their drinks. The volunteers will play Jewish music and socialize with the elderly residents. |

"JP Connections"
JP Connections will kick off the year with a Membership event on February 18 at 11:30 AM.
Regular membership in the Friends of the Jewish Pavilion starts at $36. Membership dues benefit and enrich the lives of elderly Jews who can no longer care for themselves. Staff and volunteers work in partnership to provide regular visitation, Shabbat and holiday meals and other special events throughout the year. Over a 100 Jewish seniors living in long term care facilities receive weekly visitation through the Jewish Pavilion.

"Update Your Spring Wardrobe" will be the program presented by Marie Johnson of Steinmart. Pat Rubenstein will chair this JP Connections event on behalf of the Jewish Pavilion.
The Membership Appeal for the Jewish Pavilion is an on-going success. Many thanks to the 215 members who have already given or pledged to give. All participants in the appeal will receive invitations to the "Update Your Spring Wardrobe " event.

"Building a Legacy of Care" Support our efforts to enhance the lives of Jewish residents in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities throughout Central Florida by providing regular visitation, Shabbat and holiday meals, religious services, rabbinical visits, Yiddish musical programs and other enrichments. We make over 100 visits a week to seniors in fifty long-term care facilities in addition to our group programs. Our respite program gives caregivers a break on Fridays by allowing their loved ones to meet at the JCC for day-long activities including a Shabbat service. With your help, we can expand our program and reach out to more people in need. GIVING LEVELS:
- $36 provides a Chanukah party at one long term care facility.
- $100 provides a dozen residents with a Shabbat meal.
- $180 provides a Seder and siddurim for ten residents.
- $500 provides for high holiday services and celebrations in ten nursing homes.
- $1000 provides for monthly rabbinical visits in fifteen assisted living facilities.
- $5000 provides for Shabbat food, services and activities for nine seniors in our weekly Respite Care Program
