The 2010 US Vintage Model Yacht Group (VMYG) National "Vintage Model Yachting Days" Regatta is July 22-25 at the Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic CT. It is being held with the annual Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous (ACBR) for full-size vintage power and sail boats. Included is a Friday picnic plus attendees can join the ACBR participants for their Saturday dinner at the Seaport. For details and sign-up, go to the US VMYG website at www.usvmyg.org or contact John Snow, Coordinator, at 781-631-4203 or jsnowj@comcast.net 

 

Regatta will feature Vintage 36, Vintage Marblehead and Traditional Sailing Craft (schooners, skipjacks, etc.) R/C model racing, peer model craftsman judging and formal displays in our large exhibit tent. For added interest, there will be a "Parade of Model Boats" Saturday led by a museum-quality 7.5 foot R/C model of the Seaport's 1841 Charles W. Morgan whaling ship. The Morgan model is displayed at the Visitors Reception Center when not sailing at special Seaport events. Various R/C demonstrations are also planned with scale power boat models in the Seaport's new 40'x60' exhibit pool.
