RG-65 Class News The U.S. RG-65 Fleet (and AMYA Club #269) recently completed their initial votes to formally establish the class here in the U.S. Although already recognized as a National Class by the International RG-65 Class Association, the U.S. members combined several pending issues to set direction and allow additional work and planning once the members decided on direction.
The results of the class vote can be found here. Also, you can take a look at their class site.

2009 AMYA M CLASS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
May 15 - 17 at Redd's Pond, Marblehead, MA The Marblehead Model Yacht Club (MYC) is hosting the 2009 AMYA M Class National Championship May 15 - 17 in Marblehead. You are cordially invited to the first-ever AMYA M Nationals at the historic venue of Redd's Pond, which has been the scene of organized model racing since 1892. There will be a calendar of events for AMYA and Vintage R/C M boats you will find enjoyable. In addition, Halsey Herreshoff and Herreshoff Designs Inc. will launch their new Newport 30 R/C model based on an 1896 design of Captain Nat Herreshoff, his grandfather. Halsey will also race a VM model and be our regatta dinner speaker. For insights on our club and sailing site, plus 2009 M National events, visit the club website at www.mmycboat.com. The Marblehead, launched in 1930 at Redd's Pond, has truly stood the test of time from free-sail to R/C eras, but now needs an infusion of support to remain a proactive class. Please join us for some fun and unique regatta activities, while helping us to renew broader interest in the M Class. For details, contact Stan Goodwin, M Class Secretary, at Marblehead@modelyacht.org or 781-631-5847. Our club contact is Commodore Ben Martin at 978-828-9765.

Video Time: VIEW FROM THE HELM
Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to
ride in a CR 914? Now you can find out!
In a strong northerly during Larchmont MYC's races
on January 30 Julian Croxall recorded the action with a GoPro miniature camera
mounted in the stern of his boat. Parental discretion is advised (violence, no
nudity) during some of the scenes: flying spray, broaches, collisions, a
fractured steering pedestal and the departure of the starboard wheel during the
action, entanglements, and a tsunami rushing toward you as you stand at the helm
when the boat dives, complete with the sounds of the howling wind, rushing
water, humming fins, popping sails, bangs and crashes - you almost expect to
hear screams of joy on the planing runs...and profanity during the
collisions. Click here to visit YouTube where where Julian has posted his 9-minute-long video. When
you get there be sure to click on "watch in high quality" near the lower right
corner of the video screen, and for even more realism click on the icon that
generates a full-screen display. Then crank up your audio volume and hang on
tight during the ride of your life!

All past issues of the Bulletin, no matter which name it had on it, are available here.
Submissions are accepted. Do you have something quick you want to get to a bunch of people? Sure send it in. However, anything more than a paragraph really belongs in the AMYA magazine, Model Yachting.
As always, thanks for reading.
