From the Helm:
This bulletin is being sent to you by Dave Brawner. He has been kind enough to give me some space to update you on happenings at the AMYA. As you may or may not be aware I am just out of the hospital after an extended battle with my pancreas. I won!!
Chuck Buzek is recovering from triple by-pass and heart valve replacement. He too is doing well.
Larry Ludwig is home recovering from intestinal surgery and Doug Hemmingway is getting used to his "new" heart. It has been quite some summer.

I would like to thank all the members who voted in the recent election. With over 700 members voting, it shows that there is a lot of interest in how the Association is governed. We need volunteers!!! There are a lot of activities of the Association that need leaders and workers. We are always looking for suggestions on how to make your AMYA better. If you have a skill set and some time, you might consider volunteering your services to the AMYA

Please check out and sign up to be an active member of the AMYA forum. It should prove to be a means to some better communication within the Association.

See You at the Pond

Pete Maxson

 How do your sails look?

This is generally a good time of year to place your orders with your favorite sailmaker.  Perhaps even drop the hint to your spouse about how new sails would make a great holiday present.

The purpose of this newsletter is to pass along what I hear while wandering the halls at AMYA.  Though I won't officially be a member of the Board until January 1st, they have been kind enough to give me a guided tour of certain areas.

This week, I was given the ok to add the AMYA email list to the recipients of this newsletter.  Also, the newsletter has a new name.  I hope that I am not barging into your inbox.  But, If you don't want to receive any further issues, please just click the unsubscribe option below.

Submissions are accepted.  Do you have something quick you want to get to a bunch of people?  Sure send it to me.  However, anything more than a paragraph really belongs in the AMYA magazine, Model Yachting

Thanks for reading.
