We at Lighthouse have our noses to the proverbial grindstone this month. We are looking forward to selecting the finalists for this year's Canberra BusinessPoint Awards. We will soon be launching our new-look website, which will greatly improve your online experience with us. The new website will be clearer and more easy-to-use. As always, we are bringing you a number of quality educational events.
This month, we are launching the Business Canvas Workshop as one of our signature events. We are offering this workshop at the introductory price of $99 (normally $149). It will use the Business Canvas to help you gain an in-depth understanding of what your business is really about. It will arm you with a new knowledge of what strategies, activities and resources your business needs in order to be successful. Scroll down for more information.
Also this month will be our popular Canberra BusinessPoint Commercial Law Clinic. Focussing on business names, trademarks, copyright and designs, this clinic involves a confidential, one-on-one session with experienced commercial lawyer, Shaun Creighton of Chamberlains Law Firm. The next few months will see the Lighthouse team out and about collaborating on a number of events including the September Canberra BusinessPoint Awards and a unique networking event with Schmooze called Dress for Success being held at the new Hub in the Canberra Centre.
On 29 August, Lighthouse will participate in Schmooze's Capital Region Marketplace at Rydges Canberra. This will be an expo designed for networking, learning and connecting with other businesses.
Lighthouse will be presenting this year and focus on the innovation life cycle and how Lighthouse works with individuals and businesses to help navigate their way through this. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to find out more about the new products and services being offered by Lighthouse, including formal incubation, a new intensive mentoring and business development service, and the business canvas - a new and visual approach to business planning.
CEO Anna Pino says, "Lighthouse like any other business has to review what it offers to ensure it provides the best outcome for our clients and supporters. I always welcome input into this process."

It's been two months since the Brilliant Idea Facebook page was launched and we are very excited by the results so far. It's great to extend a casual environment for peer learning support to Facebook where our entrepreneurs can ask business questions of experienced business owners and others can join in the conversation.
