Business in Focus Month at Lighthouse
The Business and Industry Development Branch of the ACT Chief Minister's Department is holding Business In Focus in September 2009.  This month-long program of business events is designed to help local business operators to build better businesses by:
  • Improving awareness of business information and services available;
  • Improving awareness of local business capabilities; and
  • Providing opportunities to cultivate and strengthen relationships through a wide range of high quality business events on offer throughout the month.
As part of our commitment to the business community, Lighthouse is holding a number of events for Business in Focus:

Startup Camp Canberra
From 6pm Friday 18 to 6pm Sunday 20 September
University of Canberra
Cost: FREE

Experiencing the thrill of launching a web business and learning-by-doing is the purpose of Start-Up Camp Canberra.  Over the course of a single weekend, teams will be formed, brain storms will result in idea tsunamis, business strategies developed, code written and (hopefully) a web application launched to the world.   On the Sunday, your team gets to present its business to the world at a special media launch event and get critiqued by actual web technology investors.
