Here's what people are saying about the SkimmerSack: "Great product, feels/looks durable, even after a lot of use in the field, dropping it, carrying camera/lens with it it works fine." "The bean bag is a delight - the best I've got. The extra velcro on the bottoms and the carry handle are superb extra "touches" and make it far more usable than normal bean bags..." "Construction wise it is very well made and should last a long long time. I often use it when I have an hour or two and use my car as a blind. It's very easy to bring in the car and offers very good support for my 500mm lens. I used to rest the lens on the window sill and the beanbag is much more steady and vibration free. I also use it to place the lens on the car roof or anywhere on the car and it sure beats trying to rest the lens on your hand to save the car's finish." "Great product and well planned out. I spend a lot of time on the road for work, and find myself shooting from the truck a lot of the time. It goes with me anytime that I take my camera bag (which is everywhere) even if there is only a slight chance I will get to shoot. It is a very stable platform to shoot from and has been the only answer in some situations." "I am very happy with the SkimmerSack. I filled it with no problem using pinto beans. I carry the bean bag in my vehicle, rolling down the window and setting it on the door. I use a quick release on the Skimmer Ground Pod with a Nikon 500 mm lens. I am very happy with the panning and tilting ability. I wish I had invented the Ground Pod - I have recommended it to several friends and I will continue to do so. Thanks for the great photo store!" |
"I personally developed the SkimmerSack for use with the Skimmer II when shooting out of the car with a big lens and I have found it to be the best solution by far. Gone are the days of a permanently mounted window mount or overly large bulky beanbags that cradle the lens too much and restrict your movement." -Greg Downing
