Dear
While most of us love a white Christmas, there are not too many who love being cold. As we move into the holiday season, it looks like we won't be seeing much white stuff, while raising concerns about climate change with an unseasonably warm December so far.
At Wavelengths, we care about the environment as well as staying cozy, which is why we're completely overhauling the heating system during the holidays this year. We are moving to an in-floor radiant heating system, and adding lots of insulation to keep the heat in!
Aside from all the benefits of warm feet and even heat, the great thing about this system is that there is the potential to integrate a solar component in the future. The solar system would supplement the natural gas to pre-heat the water in solar tubing mounted on our convenient south roof face.
Thanks to Sara Bradley of Bradley Engineering (www.bradleystructuraleng.com) and Tyler Hay of Iron
Roots Home and Property Co. (705-778-1279) who will be doing most of the work, which will include structural reinforcement of the floor as well as well as installing the heating system beneath it.
