Greetings!
The Yoga Sutras remind us to remain steady (sthiram) and comfortable (sukkham) in our yoga practice (Yoga Sutra II-46) and this translates well into our daily lives. Being steady means balancing the tasks that need to be done so that you can maintain your energy level and not become stressed or burned out. Being comfortable means, not that you have every modern convenience, but that you surround yourself with those who love and support you and that you maintain a positive attitude as much as possible.
This community of love and support can be found amongst your family and friends, as well as through the yoga sangha (sangha means a community of like-minded people, spiritual friends). Surrounding yourself with people who share a common goal and similar values helps to support your own growth, while you support the blossoming of others.
Many students at Wavelengths Yoga have benefited, and continue to flourish through the support of the community and the life-affirming and refreshingly positive messages that yoga has to offer.
Be a part of the yoga sangha in Norwood, Westwood and Peterborough and share the blessings that pour forth. |

Canoe trips and courses with Caroline |
Remaining steady and comfortable is also important when it comes to whitewater canoeing. All trips and courses with Caroline start each day with simple yoga to help your body ease into the demands of paddling. Increase your confidence by learning (or improving) whitewater skills in a supportive, fun and friendly environment.

Women's French River Trip
Hosted by Black Feather Wilderness Adventures
July 12 - 15
French River, Ontario
The Women's French River is an excellent introduction to river canoeing, wilderness camping and whitewater just for women. We'll follow the route of the Voyageurs through easy rapids, camp on great shelves of rock by the river shore, enjoy diving rocks and swimming down swifts in the warm water. The pace is relaxed so we can play in the rapids, swim on hot days whenever we want, take pictures or take a long lunch. The sunsets are stunning. The meals are a treat. There is enough physical activity that you'll sleep well but you'll return from the French River refreshed, renewed and with a sense of accomplishment.

Mountain River, NWT
Hosted by Black Feather Wilderness Adventures
August 7 - 20 Northwest Territories, Canada This wild whitewater river flows 370 km, dropping over 1,200 metres over its course, with large volume rapids, fast current and five beautiful canyons. It's a trip of a lifetime for paddlers with intermediate whitewater skills. (Those skills could be obtained at the MKC women's week or other courses offered by either Black Feather Wildnerness Adventures or MKC)
