White Rock Spring Games
Save the date of Saturday, May 19, for the White Rock Spring Games at Norbuck Park. Lakewood-area schools will join forces for an Olympics-style field day featuring team events and individual competitions. Get ready for wheelbarrow and three-legged relays, an obstacle course, 3-on-3 soccer and basketball, and much more. The event will feature live music throughout the day and food for purchase. Register now>> to participate in this fundraiser. 100% of the registration fees from St. John's parents will come back to the school.
Parent volunteers are needed as game supervisors, referees and scorekeepers. Help is also needed to man the information desk, first-aid station and on-site communications. To volunteer, contact Pam Zeko or stay tuned for a link to online volunteer signup.

Games Day is Friday, April 27. Students will have a full day of fun activities and friendly competition between the blue and gold teams! Each student is assigned to either the blue or gold team. Assignments remain the same each year, and siblings are on the same team. View team assignments>>
Attire
On Games Day, all students wear either blue or gold T-shirts (depending on team assignment), shorts or sweatpants (depending on weather), and athletic shoes (no Keens or Crocs). St. John's T-shirts are available for purchase through the PA Spirit Shop>>; however, students may wear ANY blue or gold T-shirt.
Volunteer for this Fun Day
If you would like to volunteer to help at Games Day (it's a lot of fun, really!), please email Laura Braasch. We need general helpers, people to serve lunch and dads to grill the hot dogs.
Parking on Games Day
The school has reserved space at Lake Highlands Baptist Church for faculty off-site parking on Games Day. If parking is not available on campus, volunteers may park at LHBC, along Peavy or at the Lake Highlands rugby parking lot on Lake Highlands. Parents who park on Harter, the green space or any neighborhood street without a curb run the risk of being ticketed by Code Compliance. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
NO After School Program
After a full day of non-stop action, students are ready for home. There is no After School Program on Games Day.

Everyday Support
Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
As the end of school draws near, it's time once again to show our teachers how much we care about all they do for our children. The annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, May 9, and this year's theme is "These are a Few of Our Favorite Things."
We need a few more volunteers (tablescapers) to decorate a table for our beloved teachers on this special day, so grab a friend or two and come up with an idea to make a table display with a few of your favorite things. If you can't make it to the event, please consider donating a gift card or other item for door prizes. Please contact Angie Speer or Jill Pumpelly if you are interested in volunteering.
Box Tops
The final Box Tops collection of the school year will be Wednesday, May 9. Lower and Middle School winners of the total spring collection (January through May) will receive a free-dress day.
Socials
Last call to jump on the party train. Socials are available until the end of April for purchase online>>. The Ticket and Urban Cowboy socials are later this month, so hurry up and join in the fun.

First and foremost, I want to thank the teachers and staff at St. John's for keeping our kiddos safe and calm during the storms and tornadoes of last week. The parents appreciate knowing that our kids were safe and cared for. How fortunate we are!
Traci Beasley and her crew have put on yet another wonderful teacher appreciation lunch. Thank you for feeding and lifting the spirits of our teachers!
Thank you to Liz Williamson and many of the 2012-13 Council. They are already meeting and making plans. Thank you for starting early and kicking off your planning. You are going to have a fabulous year!
PA Volunteer Recognition -- The Last PA Meeting of the YEAR!
Tuesday, May 15, at 8:30 a.m. I invite all of you to attend. This will not be our typical meeting; it will be a celebration of this year's many, MANY accomplishments and recognition of all of your hard work. I will also be handing over the gavel to our wonderful Liz Williamson, who will be the 2012-13 PA President. Yea LIZ! Everyone is welcome to come. Can't wait to see you there!
-- Ann West, 2011-12 PA President

Year-end Reminders Please turn in your reimbursement forms for anything PA. We will close the books soon and need to have a final figure for disbursement to the school. Super job by all!
If you have finished your job, please complete a wrap-up report for Liz and the next crew. This is vital information as we transition to another awesome group of volunteers.
