Auction Train Pulls in $200,000

It was a spectacular evening filled with friends, festivities and no shortage of fun. And when it was all said and done, the ALL ABOARD! Auction surpassed our wildest expectations by raising more than $200,000 for St. John's. We are truly grateful for the support shown by our entire community, and would especially like to thank our underwriters, generous donors, hardworking volunteers and everyone who attended this unprecedented event. We owe a special debt of gratitude to Molly and Leon Banowetz, whose tireless efforts organizing this year's raffle netted more than $65,000 of the total funds raised.

Ways to Get Involved

We have fun spring events on the horizon. Check out the opportunities to help listed below.

Games Day

Games Day will be Friday, April 27. If you'd like to volunteer (for the whole day or for a shift) and have not yet been contacted, please call or email Laura Braasch (214-213-2501). This is such a fun day for our kids, so thank you for helping to make it a success.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

As the end of the school year draws near, it's time to show our teachers how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication! Which is why we need your help with the annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, scheduled for Wednesday, May 9. This year's theme is A Few of Our Favorite Things, so let your imaginations run wild. Some ideas that have already been reserved are: Christmas, shoes and delightful desserts. As you can see, the possibilities are endless.

Your help is needed in several areas. As always, we need tablescapers to create a festive mood; however, if table decor isn't your thing, we could use your help with serving on the day of the luncheon. We will also need door-prize donations, which can take the form of gift cards, tickets to sporting events, tickets to musicals, plants, jewelry or anything else you can dream up. Our goal is to secure at least 50 to 60 items. The door prizes are a favorite of the teachers, so the more items we receive, the greater their chance of winning.

Please consider helping out. The Teacher Appreciation Luncheon is a ton of fun, and it's truly rewarding to see just how much the teachers enjoy this event. Contact the year-end event co-chairs, Angie Speer and Jill Pumpelly, if you have questions or would like to volunteer.
