Please Help Fund Scholarships for Midwives and Students of Color to Attend the Upcoming International Center for Traditional Childbearing (ICTC) Conference
At the CPM Symposium last March, Midwives of Color made specific requests of those who want to work as allies to end disparities in birth outcomes.
One request was to help with scholarships for midwives and students of color.
The Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression Work in Midwifery (AROM) group that formed at the Symposium is responding to that challenge with a fundraising campaign to create scholarships for midwives and students of color to attend the upcoming International Center for Traditional Childbearing (ICTC) Conference October 19-21 in Miami Florida.
Support midwives and students of color by making a contribution today.

| | Reminder! Join the MAWS Board of Directors! Nominate Another Midwife or Consumer?
The next MAWS Conference and Annual Meeting is coming up November 9th. A few members of our current Board of Directors will be running for re-election, but some changes are afoot, and we want to invite you to consider joining us. The work is fun, inspiring and satisfying!
Board members take an active role in the work of MAWS. The Board typically meets once per month. Most meetings are in the Seattle area, though members can call in to meetings--so it is possible to join from a distance. Board members are expected to participate in committee work. If you're interested in getting on this fall's ballot, please email your name and bio (or that of a colleague, with their permission). Board members must be active members of MAWS--whether professional or consumers. Nominations must be received by Tuesday, September 25, 2012. |
