Happy New Year - Chenomx is 10 years old
|

2010
is here! It is a new decade and Chenomx has now been in business for ten years! Founded
in January 2000 with the vision of simplifying the inherent complexity of metabolic profiling, Chenomx has
successfully developed a unique technology platform that has become the gold standard for
complex mixture analysis for a broad range of applications. In doing so, Chenomx has grown substantially while we have assisted in bringing metabolic profiling from the realm of specialized research
scientists to that of the wider research and medical community. Over those ten years, we have helped a broad range of customers (from blue-chip pharmaceutical to individual academics) use metabolic profiling to dig deeper into a wide variety of different sample types and extract invaluable information that would otherwise go unnoticed. Our patented " Targeted Profiling" technology is used in both our in-house software and out-sourced services options. This powerful technology provides a fast and non-selective view of the metabolic contents
of your fluid sample while ensuring confident and accurate results for your personalized research project. If you still haven't experienced the benefits our technology can offer your research, why not try what hundreds of other researchers are now using regularly? Sending samples for analysis or purchasing an in-house license of
Chenomx NMR Suite is an easy process! We even offer a free consultation and introductory research study package to help you get started.
Contact us today to get more information.
Finally, we would like to thank all those who have already chosen us for their metabolic profiling needs and hope to continue to assist you in the future. Happy New Year everyone...have a great 2010! |

Publications Using Chenomx NMR Suite |
In the January 2010 issue Heptology, there was a study published by Fannin et al. entitled Acetaminophen Dosing of Humans Results in Blood Transcriptome and Metabolome Changes Consistent with Impaired Oxidative Phosphorylation. This paper examine the effects of drug-induced liver injury by using the patented " Targeted Profiling" technology of Chenomx NMR Suite to profile changes in the transcriptome
and metabolome in serial peripheral blood (PB) samples obtained from six healthy adults
treated with a 4-g bolus dose of acetaminophen (APAP) and from three
receiving placebo. Treatment did not cause liver injury as assessed by traditional liver chemistries. However, 48 hours after exposure, treated subjects showed marked down-regulation
of genes involved in oxidative phosphorylation/mitochondrial function
that was not observed in the placebos. In addition, unbiased analysis of the serum metabolome revealed an
increase in serum lactate from 24 to 72 hours postdosing in the treated
subjects alone. They concluded the single 4-g APAP dose produced a transcriptome signature in PB cells
characterized by down-regulation of oxidative phosphorylation genes
accompanied by increased serum lactates. These studies support the further exploration of the blood transcriptome for biomarkers of drug-induced liver injury.

Upcoming Metabolomics Conference
|
Chenomx is proud to be a silver sponsor at the first International Metabolomics Symposium taking place March 10-12, 2010, in Freising-Weihenstephanin, Germany. This informative conference will focus on new analytic methods,
late-breaking discoveries, as well as challenges and pitfalls in metabolomics
studies. Leading scientists will discuss the value of Metabolomics in basic
science applications, in diagnostics and in nutrition and food research.
You can register for this 2-1/2 day conference and get more information by clicking here.

Chenomx NMR Suite 6.0 Tips
|

When using the Profiler module in
Chenomx NMR Suite 6.0, you can perform many common compound operations through the context menu, available by right-clicking on a compound's row in the table. Operations accessible through the context menu include setting the compound to its potential concentration, updating the profiled version of the compound to the latest version in your library, and clearing concentrations, transforms, custom colors, stars and pins. |
