Customer Success Story
Chenomx Contract Services is a great option to support your current research efforts and has been successfully used in a broad range of application areas. There are many studies where the patented technology behind the Chenomx MetaProfile and NMR Suite software has helped researchers with real practical results.

One such study was in the determination of nutrient effects, in both fish feed and feed ingredients, on fish growth rates. EWOS Innovation, (a Norwegian company who is one of the world's leading salmon feed manufacturers) used Chenomx technology to identify and quantify nutrients in fish feed samples. Chenomx's services group was not only able to help our client with routine nutrient analysis, but was also able to make use of global metabolomics and accurately identify unknown features that correlated strongly with growth rates. Chenomx was able to bolster these results with structurally proven NMR signatures. As part of this study, further ambiguities were resolved using powerful 2D NMR techniques, fully taking advantage of the structural information found in NMR spectra.

Here is what Richard Taylor (from EWOS) has said about his experiences with Chenomx software and services:

"Our R&D department uses high field NMR for metabolite analysis of our feed and fish products. Chenomx NMR Suite is essential and indispensable to our applications in this R&D program. The user-friendly Chenomx profiling software combined with their extensive libraries allow us to easily identify and measure the features in complex spectrum from feed or tissue. In addition, we often find value in using Chenomx's consulting services for peak identification, protocol development and in some cases validation. The results allow us to draw more informed conclusions from our research, and have given us direct benefits in our daily manufacturing processes."

Your research can benefit too through either our Contract Services department or in-house Chenomx NMR Suite licenses. We even offer an Introductory Research Study package if you don't know where to start!

Publications Using Chenomx NMR Suite
http://chenomx.com/publications/index.htmlIn the June 2009 issue of The Journal of Proteome Research, there was a study published by Slupsky et al. entitled Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus pneumonia induce distinct metabolic responses.

This paper used the patented "Targeted Profiling" technology of Chenomx NMR Suite to characterize urinary metabolite changes in a C57Bl/6 mouse model with lung infection from either S. pneumoniae or S. aureus using multivariate targeted profiling data obtained from (1)H NMR spectra. Marked changes in the urinary metabolite profile occurred within 24 h after infection with either pathogen. Analysis of metabolic trajectory data indicated that, as the mice recovered from infection, their urinary metabolic profile became similar to that of the preinfected state. These results underline the potential of metabolomics as a tool for diagnosis, health monitoring, and drug development, and show its usefulness for understanding microbial-host interactions.

Chenomx NMR Suite 6.0 Tips
Chenomx NMR Suite When using the Processor module in Chenomx NMR Suite 6.0, remember your spectrum is properly phased when it has a baseline that describes a smooth curve across the entire width of the spectrum.
