Coming Soon: Chenomx NMR Suite 6.0!
|

The best is coming! We are almost ready to release our latest Chenomx NMR Suite 6.0 version. This new and powerful version will have many advanced features that allow you to fit spectra much faster and more efficiently than our past versions. This is accomplished by the development of our "next generation" pH sensitive libraries. It is now much easier to
profile ("fit") spectra in Profiler, because our compound libraries
will automatically calibrate many aspects of their own shapes to match each
spectrum that is profiled. You can save a lot of time and work through your data quicker with this latest edition!
Some other major improvements include: - Processor now lets you
specify a "pH Uncertainty" for each CNX file. This allows you
tell the software how "confident" you are about the pH value that you are
assigning to a given spectrum. So, for example, instead of telling it that
a spectrum has a pH of "4.4", you could now tell it that the
spectrum's pH is "4.4, plus or minus 0.3". This new
uncertainty amount (i.e. 0.3 in the previous example) is used each time the shapes of the new compounds are calibrated before fitting with them. The more confidence you have in
a spectrum's pH, the more accurately each compound can be calibrated to match
that spectrum.
- Compound Builder has been
improved to allow Professional Edition users to create these "next generation" pH sensitive compounds. This way you can easily add new pH sensitive compounds to your own personalized libraries.
- Profiler now allows you to completely ignore transform windows when profiling compounds giving you greater flexibility while fitting.
This is just a summary of a few new features, but we will be sending you more information with all the details once it is released. If you are a current customer and want to benefit from using the latest edition, be sure to renew your maintenance contract if it is not currently up to date. If you have been considering purchasing a license of Chenomx NMR Suite for your metabolic profiling, then this latest edition might be exactly what you need! Remember, we also offer contract services if you would like to outsource you metabolic profiling research!

Publications Using Chenomx NMR Suite |
In the May 2009 issue of the Journal of Proteome Research, there was a new study published by Hughes et al. entitled The Metabolomic Responses of Caenorhabditis elegans to Cadmium Are Largely Independent of Metallothionein Status, but Dominated by Changes in Cystathionine and Phytochelatins. This paper used Chenomx NMR Suite for metabolite profiling and quantification using the patented " Targeted Profiling" technique. This
was a study of cadmium exposure in C. elegans, and is still one of only
a handful of metabolomic studies with this model organism. Using proton NMR spectroscopy and UPLC-MS, metabolic profiles were obtained from the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans
exposed to sublethal concentrations of cadmium. The results suggest that a primary response to low levels of cadmium is the differential regulation of the C. elegans trans-sulfuration pathway, which channels the flux from methionine through cysteine into phytochelatin synthesis. Upcoming Conferences
|
The Fifth Annual International Conference of the Metabolomics Society
will be held in Chenomx's hometown of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada from August
31-September 2, 2009.
Chenomx will have several people on hand to help you learn more about
our patented "Targeted Profiling" technique and how
our contract services and software can help you with your research.
Our powerful technology can be used with a variety of sample types and has a
broad range of applications.
For more information you can go to
the Metabolomics Society website here and then click on the 2009
Metabolomics Society Conference link.
We will also be attending the World Congress on
Biotechnology and Bioprocessing in Montreal
next week (July 19-22). If you want more information on this conference you can click here.

Chenomx NMR Suite 5.1 Tips
|

When using the Profiler module in
Chenomx NMR Suite 5.1 and you Export Profiled Concentrations, compounds with unknown concentrations (--) are not exported unless other spectra in the exported set have those compounds profiled, or you have chose to include compounds with no concentrations |
